Cudgel is the best!
Far from being effective though.

Nodachi is best you god damn my old friendget, now go back to the field
-
1 vs 1 - Longsword
Many vs many - German or Danish for reach advantage.
-
Best non-stab-2h is for me the "Nodachi", just because its very long and still quite fast.
Best stab-2h is for me the "German Great Sword", looks better than the Danish on Kuyak, its fast/long and more stab-based than the Danish.
OP-2h is the "Longsword/HBS/BS", at least in siege. (My opinion)

lies, cudgel best for all occasions.

Great Sword.
-
Great Sword.
Rather Flambard, which is a "better Great Sword"
-
I enjoy the war cleaver most. It didn't make the poll :(
-
adding war cleaver and flambard.
Ty for reminding :)
-
Hey Lekis!
I think Longsword too, but hey, Mace and Langes Messer are not bad at all either =)
Mind adding the two?
-
Definitely the German Greatsword for me. Longsword is overrated

...?
Flambard is nothing like the Great Sword. It is pretty much just a bad version of the Claymore.
-
Depends on build. Eg with 24 agi build german becomes really good, with str based build its too slow now.
-
longsword & miaodao
-
Best for me is very long and still quite fast.
-
Panos Duel Tournament showed that "Longsword" is the most powerful 2h when it comes to dueling. Most participants played with it and some changed to it after they failed with DanishGS or GermanGS.
In Battle it all comes to the personal fighting style, the build and the situation.
-
Great Bardiche
-
I think I would do better with a HBS than with a longsword, but not better than a +3 longsword.
-
Longsword is the ultimate duelling weapon for sure. Me and a few others started out with Danish/German/Great Sword in the duel tournament, by the end we were all using the Longsword. Fighting a Longsword pretty much requires a Longsword.
On battle though a Longsword is a weak wimpy weapon and I'd pick the glorious German Greatsword over it any day. 50% of my attacks are stabs in battle and it has always felt better than the Danish for me for some reason. Other favourites are the Flamberge, the Great Bardiche and the Great Maul, but my most consistent performance is done with a German.
-
I voted "Flamberge", for what should be obvious reasons!
-
Add the Great Axe ffs :D
-
Most players use a longsword for... obviously superior damage and speed, but some players use the estoc for improved reach at the cost of reduced swing damage, prefering to stab. still yet are people who use the highland claymore for its impressive cut damage and reasonable speed+length.
-
Longsword is a very "all around" weapon as it has pretty high speed, ok reach, and pretty good damage...kinda is good at all things but doesn't excel at any.
For this reason it is a nice 2h on siege because longer 2h get stuck more often in tight spaces. In battle it is often too short and I will often take a german greatsword in that occasion.
Longsword is funny though because at 106 length it's barely longer than some 1h. I would almost propose it going to 108 length and reducing it's speed by 1 (or damage or something) in return.
-
GREAT AXE IS OP FROM BEGINING TO THE END OF THE WORLD!
But German GS is favourite dont like great axe!
-
Danish or longsword. Everyone who knows me knows I use LS, tho. No exceptions!
-
I wonder why +3 Goedendag isn't more popular among 2H duelists. It does roughly the same damage against medium+ armor as a +3 Longsword, has higher "effective" speed since you can hiltslash better with blunt damage than cut, has knockdown, more reach, etc. I've barely spent a few hours playing 2h chars on duel server, but I've done better with +3 Goedendag than anything else.

I love using the Goedendag, but if you whip it out on a duel server then most people will start whining if you don't let them get up when you knock them down and without the knockdown I'd much rather use a Longsword or HBS.

Never understood that bit of "duel etiquette". Abuse hiltslash, kicks, lolstabs, crushthrough, s-key; no problem. Take advantage of the knockdown attribute (which is always reflected by other tradeoffs in a weapon's stats), and you are breaking some kind of code.
Even ignoring knockdown, the Goedendag has the highest "effective speed" of any 2h weapon with equal or greater length, which is worth a lot in a duel.

Needless to say, you can roll out of danger if you're decent.
-
Yeah I find it kind of silly that people still complain when there is actually a counter to it. Sadly whenever I try to use the knockdown people stop accepting my duel offers.

my mwdadao best :)

inb4 Jarlek,
oh this should be good...
