First off, I am not English. Second, you guys are acting like the england ditched you and hit the road as soon as germans came, which is not simply true. Also, they had their own problems, Like constant air attacks and bombing imposed by luftwaffe. They would keep fighting, if all of their shit was not being bombed to hell.

And even after they retreated, RAF and the remaining forces kept fighting after joining up with US forces.

Notice that we never surrendered at WW2. French soldier kept fighting until the end of the war. That's why we are a member of the Security Counsil.
In fact, Germany lost the 2 WW, surrendered and was split in different parts each time.
