No, SP game. It's quite simple, it's just a question of how fast you beat it.

Speaking of which, I refined my tactics a bit and made it to 94th place with my team "Teurastajat". I reckon I'm satisfied with that, at least for now. See if you can do better!

Played the shit out of Areena 5 when I was younger, not so excited about the series today though.

Might give it a spin.  :P

I hate it when my druid gets critically hit by a crossbow at the very beginning of a match, who only had 37% chance of hitting me in the first place. And is injured for 4 rounds after this obvious loss...
You can't "store" your gladiators either, to let them heal, or choose the best pick against the opponent.
So you actually have to think ahead, checking the schedule, and hoping you won't have any injuries.

I guess i better find a great stoneman or minotaur, and let him do all the work with the right equipment... Let him learn might to buff himself in the beginning, since AI just pushes forward with melee. Since i can't equip my "mages" with more than one spell, and choose the best one according to the situation, the bolt mages seems pretty good for starter, but can't even regain mana while "waiting", so if you got a bad start, you'll have a useless gladiator there.


Also, before the match start, there's absolutely no way to change your starting positions, right ? A bit of a shame, really, since all fights are quite the same (and you better have prayed Lady Luck).
Still, nice little interesting game

Basically, got very lucky and had my dream team right from the start. Never hired any more gladiators. Won the "most KOs" the first year, wich help. Lost it the other years, thanks to a stupid team in mud Division getting lots of Kos. While i sometimes had to fight teams of 2 (I even had one match canceled, automatic victory, since all opponent were injured... didn't get any ticket revenu that year).

Could have done better, forgot to fire some of my gladiators before the final fight, to keep more gold. Guess the amount of gold you still have helps with the score ? Opponent still had 3 fighters though, but i could have done it with 3 too.

Areena 5 was awesome game, we used to play it a lot with a friend in hotseat mode. The only problem was that once you got enough gold, it became way too easy. Hopefully this new version is more balanced once you get to the top.  :)
