Title: Quick reference for those stuck with shitty sounds and shitty textures
Post by: Dexxtaa on February 01, 2014, 06:51:45 pm
Our Suggestions Corner have a couple really good threads (http://forum.melee.org/suggestions-corner/) (that I've bamped with forum horse).

This mod allows the game to not suck nuts due to horses sounding retarded, and shields sounding gayer than gay porn.

This mod reskins the textures on most weapons so they seem more like weapons handed down to successors and eroded parts fixed up with gold and carvings etc or however you want to justify gem encrusted bec de corbins.

I'll find the third mod I use, which is a blood mod (it's fucking great) which allows a bit of a blood spurt when someone gets hit. Or if you're feeling a little wacky, you can have a small bloodpocalypse for every death. Gimme a few hours after my lunch.

**I did NOT make, or update any of these mods. The community peoples take it upon themselves to keep the files updated. Credits are listed in my thread to the best of my knowledge**

More Metal Sounds sounds a lot more retarded than vanilla sounds if you ask me.

I prefer original textures over those Final Boss heirloom pack textures, the loom pack makes weapons look really silly and "fantasy like".

I like some of the sound changes, but trashcan-lid-wars grates on me pretty quickly

I wonder why those who don't like these things feel the need to post here instead of those who do? :D

Maybe because topic is named in such way that it implies that the things he presents are superior to vanilla things even tho those things are really not that great either?

It's all a matter of opinion.

"More metal sounds" is....well it's different. Thats just about it. I do occasionally put it on, but not all the time.

Because the people who actually like it probably just clicked the links and got on with their lives, instead of actually discussing personal opinion on a very subjective matter.

That said, I like the aesthetics of both mods as well as the utility: incoming horses are easier to hear and determine their direction, and the heirloom pack allows me to select the appropriate strategy based on what my opponent is wielding.
