My suggestion is

Add the game types you've had in before

Commander ( works fine )
Command a small army and earn X for winning battles against other people commanding similar armies

Conquest ( I think that's the name )
the game type that lets you build a castle mine for resources protect your lands from the other faction

We never had that in Strategus :O

Would be somewhat cool to have a mix between Commander mode and Strategus battles though.
