-Night is awful, because you can't see shit.
-Dawn is just night by another name, since every map is a valley whose cliffs block the sun.
-Rain is shit because in addition to blinding you, it reduces everybody's combat effectiveness because "fuck you."
-Fog is shit because you can't see a damn thing, much less the archer with a no-fog "mod" (read: cheat) that just headshot you.
What do all of these weather modes have in common? They cast everything in an emo-gray pall of of monotony and eye strain.
"Hey look, that dull gray shape set against a dull gray background is feinting a dull gray object at me. I'd better lean in and squint so I can position my own dull gray weapon for a proper block!
...
Fuck this, I can't see shit. I'm gonna go do something more fun and less painful like chop an entire bag of onions!"
Rant over.
---------------------
As it stands, dark-shitty-emo weather is the norm for any given map.
A bright, clear, "high noon" map where you can actually see what's happening is quite rare.
This should be reversed.
The "random" weather percentages need to be fiddled with so that sunny-and-clear is far and away the most common weather type, occasionally punctuated by snow, dark, fog, etc. (hell even the orange fart weather is nice every now and then!).
I have included a suitably dark version of this post for those of you who enjoy night maps:

Indeed, weather effects in this game is horrible
-
Rain is okay imo, but i agree with you on night and fog.

Rain is horrible. Slows you down a lot and it fucks up your aim since it reduces missile speed. Oh, it also reduce damage. Totally fair
-
My room is dark and gloomy enough, there´s no need for even more darkness from the game :)
-
I have never had i problem with night to me its a barely darker day. I can see just fine and its not annoying without a sun to blind me
-
You've' Tried so hard, and got so far, but in the end, it doesn't even matter...
-
I actually like fog.. Makes maps different for me. Youll wander out of spawn and be like wtf map is this? then 4 rounds later you'll finally recongize the map then its over because your team scattered and couldn't find each other and died alone just like my daddy told me I would.
-
I like all the weather effects imo. Spices things up. Fog helps me as cav, making merciless backstabbing of AFK's at the enemy spawn even easier because no one sees me.
BUT, i'd like bright, clear days to be more common.

I like all weather as well (changes things up). But some people join a server and don't see rain or fog (the rain is still effecting them). Would be cool if weather was controlled by the server not the client. Not to mention fog can be removed on end user side of things, which is fucking lame as shit.
Night time is pretty sucky though, and can cause some pretty bad eye strain (not to mention some weapons just mysteriously blend in when fighting in the night, making you strain very hard to see them when fighting).

Remove fog/rain
Both are broken...

So it fucks up ranged? Sounds quite good if you ask me... :P
-
I agree, remove the rain debuff
-
Rain just remove particles effects. Used to fix it for me before.
And for fog just download the fog removal mod.
As for night i'm sure there are daytime mods or something (must be available) otherwise just crank the brightness up i guess lol.

and cav.. and agility infantry..
Only leaves strength-focused builds. :)
Often I've joined a server just to close the game immediately and finding something else to do, only because of the weather.
-
wouldn't even be so bad if it was just one map but night time for example often goes on for 3-4 maps which just makes me quit and do something else when i see night time because i dont want to do that shit for 20-30 mins :P
-
I play in DX7 so it solves the eye strain the only problem left is the fog. I could play in DX9 but I just like how much easier it is to see everyones body and weapons. Everyone is so glowy!

Please explain how it hurts cav. I'm like 9 beers in so excuse poor grammar.
As far as I can tell, rain helps cav. Ranged hurts cav, so anything that gimps ranged helps me. Unless cav gets a nerf, somehow, from rain that I'm not aware of. Like a speed nerf because of the mud, or something.
Fuck the police.
-
Playing night maps in a well lit room is nothing compared to playing snow maps in a dark room. I get a headache from trying to play a single round of that shit.
I actually like fog. Keeps enemy cav and archers from locking on to you at start of round and stalking you until you die :P

Donc un peu de pluie, de brouillard orange, franchement, pourquoi pas ^^
Après c'est sur que la pluie Epona elle aime pas ça...

I'm not sure about the numbers, but being horseman in rain is like riding a stubborn snail :P

Be careful with this talk of snails; there are Frenchmen about!

Fuck night time, it adds no stealth value to the game as you can still see people a mile away, yet it still manages to make my eyes hurt. It just makes the game uglier than usual and will probably be responsible for my eyesight going when I am old.
-
I'm more annoyed by rain than night, or even fog. At least there I can move normally, not like I'm walking on moving sands..
-

I often do the same, about every game session, really.
Set funky weather to 10% instead of 15% (or 5% even).
-
I don't mind seeing the rain and hearing the rain but getting slowed down by it makes the game less fun.
Oh wait, I have an idea, why not increase movement speed at nighttime by 100% and remove the ability to block when it's foggy.
That would atleast add some fun to it.
-
But seriously, turn on the sun.
-
Rain makes me not want to play its so annoying...literally every time its raining im in TS going "why am I so slow?" and my clanmates have to remind me "its raining....again". "oh yeah, fucking rain"
Also, after seeing the video by Badplayer I think I'll play in DX7 so everything is blocky and bright and easy to see...jk, I probably would do it for 1 day and get tired of how shitty it looks.
-
Rain makes me not want to play its so annoying...
That's how I feel too...
I guess our best option is to simply stick to other games that you can actually enjoy whenever you feel like playing them.
Atleast there is no rain in the marketplace.

As a man who has to chop bags of Onions on a Daily basis, I concur, that night maps are more painful.
