Title: flags
Post by: Plarbis on January 18, 2014, 02:15:48 am
Often I see people spawning flags, either above their head or on the ground.
How is this done, and how are these flags manipulated?

Flags cant be changed, they're showing the flags of warband native factions.

You press p to get your group, then you press F1 in any direction, if you look on the ground, it spawns on your head. Anyone who also joins the same number group, sees an arrow, showing the direction of the flag. It's often very useful in Strategus. Especially there. ;P

Press the P key to join a battalion then use the F1 key to set the location of a battalion flag. Then, anyone in that battalion can see an arrow indicating where the flag has been placed. It's set wherever you're looking, or on your person if you're looking at your feet.

There are 6 battalions which you can set flags for. They're mostly used in strat battles to give orders for different groups. For example, the battalion 1 flag may show the front line/commander, the battalion 2 flag may show the point of attack for a second group, the battalion 3 flag may show the location for catapults/healing tents/forward spawns/etc to be built. Etc. Although in strat only players with a certain rank in the commander's faction can place flags. Officers, basically.

Sometimes clans use them in battle mode to coordinate or stay together but it isn't very common these days. Honestly most people just ignore flags in battle.
