Title: EDM Dance Party

So there are a few music threads on here that I'm a big fan of!  You guys have shown me some amazing music over the years that I still listen to!  However, I predominately listen to EDM and I was hoping we could share more music with each other, specific to that genre.  Since people seem to love it or hate it (generally speaking), I figured it might be nice to have a thread dedicated to EDM so that we can minimize it in the general music threads for the people who are annoyed by it.  Anyway here is a song from every sub genre that I've obsessed over in the past 6 months.  Hope you enjoy and I can't wait to listen to what you guys post!

I was also think along with the posted songs.  This could be a thread of discussion regarding which DJ's perform good live sets or some cool festivals/shows that one might not normally hear of otherwise.

I really don't listen to it much anymore because it makes me wanna party and I'm trying to be a good boi (no drugs, no alcohol) and being in electronic dance music state of mind I'm out every weekend with my hands in the air  :mrgreen:

I love everything and have been everywhere from underground jungle partys to psy-trance raves in the woods to Ministry od Sound type fancy places and big minimal techno parties and loved it all. Still love todays shit and can rock to it  :mrgreen:

@Berenger- I think that may be the case as well but I'm hoping it isn't! haha.  I've been craving other avenues of music discovery.  The ol' beatport, youtube, thissongissick, sound cloud, and random googling has been getting old.  Same artists get siphoned through.  Soundcloud is def the best but it's tough to navigate sometimes.  Love that very first song btw! It's dope! DLing now.

@ptx- My bad.  To be honest I should have looked around first for another electronica thread, but I figured this could also be a forum to discuss live shows.  Like which DJ's are good live, vs. Dj's who aren't really worth.  For instance, (RE: Rave Is King by Fukk Off) this guy Le Castle Vania played here in AZ the summer before last and killed that song.  It was his remix but that was the first time I heard it and it made me want to DL the original too.  Great tune.  Amazing to hear live as well.  It was about 115 degrees on a stage set on top of an asphalt parking lot and people still were going crazy when it came on!  Big fan of the trance song you posted as well.  Going to DL that as well.

@Prpavi- Damn throwing it back!  I feel ya. I'm going to my first festival in about a year on the 15th of February.  EDM is so big now it makes partying to it even more expensive.  I used to go to warehouses with three stages for like 15 bucks, plus an extra 20 for my fun fee ;).  Now it's  at least 40 to see most of the artists I want and they just play solo with some shitty local DJ to open for them!  I'm truly jealous you went to ministry of sound! I've always wanted to go! How was it?

Speaking of amazing live performances.  I was able to see Bingo Players before one of their members died at the very same festival.  Not sure how, but at the time it was only 25 bucks hahaha.  Adrian Lux, Arty, Excision, Hardwell (Who "got the flu" and couldn't headline -_-), Bingo Players, Eric Prydz (Pryda), and I want to say like Noisia...  3 stages of heaven haha.

Hahahaha dude I'm about to.  THen I'm going to try and marry this broad.  I love internet adventures.  This song is dope!

And yes. Unfortunately he did.  From cancer.  When I saw them they performed together though.

Also.  France is starting to pump out leet DJ's almost as fast as the Netherlands and the UK.  I've yet to hear a Tchami song that I dislike.

Haha I honestly just put the sub genres so that people kind of knew what they were getting into before they clicked it.  Maybe that ruins the surprise idk.  That third song almost sounds like Silversun Pickups.

Sooo my mom asked me what I've been listening to/what my generation listens to a few weeks ago.  I showed her this song.  Go by Mightfools. She almost started crying hahahahaha

@spl00gedon Nah I was never in Ministry in London just didn't have the tiem, but there are lot's of MoS parties all over Europe especially in the summertime wuth some of their dj's spinning, but this was when Ministry meant shit not today with Basshunter and the likes...

I saw most of the acts/djs I wanted to see especially concerining dnb/jungle: Dj Hype, Shy FX, Noisia, Roni Size, LTJ Bukem, Zinc b2b Friction, Pendulum, Dilinja, John B...

I'll leave you with some dark remix from Noisia (probabaly my fav dark dnb song ever) and some chill tunes

Yeah I caught some of Noisia's set at ID Fest! They were killer! Headphones and home setups truly don't do them justice.  I honestly have never been a fan of Excision but I heard him live that same night and he was great!  He incorporated a bunch of DnB into his set when I saw him.  A lot of bass driven EDM is completely different on a live set up to me.  Actually, most EDM on an amazing set up is completely different live haha.

Luke La Mode is a German producer who started following one of my production soundcloud pages.  He's only got 118 followers but he is really underrated in my opinion.  Kid destroys.   You would like the song called Wolkenbrunch I think Pervez.  "Rhapsody is also a personal favorite of mine.  They've both got a lot of deep house elements in them.  Here's a link to his page:

his production is pretty good but his style is something i really dont like, im not fun of comercial sound.
and yes you are right i never heard that tunes, not because im not in it, but because i do not follow that sound.
and tracks you post it are way from underground(no hard feelings)
im in electronic music for last 20 years, firs 5 like as a consumer, other 15 as music producer, dj, live pa, and party organisator/promotor so i guess i know something about music i follow ;)

Yeah I don't really listen to too much like true deep house.  I guess I always just associated "Commercial Sound" with Progressive House and various forms of dub step.  Maybe Trap now.  I don't really know haha I just listen to what I enjoy.  I've been producing and mixing on and off for only about a year now but I've been a fan of techno since I heard the Mortal Kombat soundtracks haha. Wish I would have gotten into production then! A lot of kids make hits at like 15 years old now! haha.

Hey so I posted a preview of my "Wonder" remix I'm working on.  It's only about a minute so far.  It's got a real Trancey vibe to it. 130 bpm and not even really close to finished but feedback would be amazing!  Esp. constructive criticism!  (Sound qual and EQ'ing will be done later so if the suggestions could be kept to the arrangement that would be dope).  Hope you guys like it!

Finaly a music thread i can somewhat relate, beeing an avide listener of hardstyle for a while. I find it hard to find people who love the harder style as much as i do nowadays  :cry:

I'm not "into" EDM or anything, but I listen to it 3 times a week at the gym. If it has 135-145 BPM and sounds good then I click on the like button. At the very least this thread as given me some new names to plug into my Pandora workout channel.  :wink:

Wow! This sounds totally different than the Showtek I saw.  I saw them live not too long after they released cannonball.  Their style has totally changed, so cool to see the transition they made.  I had no idea they made so much hardstyle!  Unless this is a different Dj/group I'm not really sure.

Dancing is one of the best workouts you can get bby ;)  I sweat more dancing at shows than I do running 30 minutes on the treadmill.  Well, depends on the show haha.

Yeah its the same showtek, they used to be one of the best Hardstyle producers out there, but then they decided to change style. Dunno exactly why but its a shame because they made excellent tracks :(

That's crazy they played at Qlimax.  I seriously would never have guessed that!  I never wanted to go to a hard style show until my buddy who is obsessed with hard style showed me the after movie for Qlimax 2011.  The last song that plays with this video along with the visuals is pretty epic!  Like at the 3:10 mark or so.

Hey stop stereotyping me you fuckin' square!  You just don't understand the EDM movement mannnnnnn!  Hahaha no techno started with drugs and they go wonderfully together if you're into that sort of thing.  Luckily, if you aren't, it's progressed into something spectacular where the the music doesn't have to be accompanied by the drugs.  In fact most of my friends don't go to shows and a majority of the few who do go do not indulge in the "extra curricular ingestion".  *cough cough* AKA come to the next local festi with me brooooooooo.  Because Crush was amazing.

Also.  Charles Deluxe is the tits! I want to see him so bad!  This song is tied for my favorite remix of his along with the track you just posted.

Gesaffelstein is probably my favorite artist at the moment.  Never have I ever wanted to see someone live so badly.  I play this mix whenever I play ranked in League.  It's the perfect amount of time usually.  All his sets are different that I've seen via the ol' youtube.

Ok, last post for the night.  If anyone uses/has used launchpad and/or ableton and has any feedback as to whether or not it's worth getting if you already have LP9 that would be amazing.  Because, launchpads look really fun!!!

P.S.  This kid posts his ableton files if you're skeptical as to whether or not this is legit.

That last song is really cool!  Although I have yet to hear a song with Veela that I don't like haha

Adventure Club was one of my favorite artists live!  They come too Phoenix all the time haha so I'm trying to stop myself from attending their next show here.  And I think I'm going EDC Vegas at the end of June.  Depending slightly on if I can convince a friend or two to come with me but I'm almost positive I am!  Are you? 

Just saw Chainsmokers a couple weeks ago.  If you've only heard "Selfie" by them try not to judge too hard.  They had a great live performance.

A great album start to finish, but these two are my favs.



Mellow and relaxing but still energetic enough that it gets you moving. I like to listen to Tycho when I'm doing cardio at the gym or cleaning the house. Puts me in a great state of mind and I end up dancing while I wash dishes or etc.
