Title: first game you ever bought

i mean on iternet not some retail in local shop
my first game was mount& blade: warband, bought it so i could play that mod called Crpg because i heard so much about it

Do only keys count without steam, if so I think it's Call of Duty 2, on Steam it was Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars

Me too. I usually pirate the fuck out of everything older than two years, but it doesnt work with mp games.

Ehm, must have been 2006. Didn't have a paypal account until then. All other games were bought in shops before. Since then, ehm.. like nothing anymore!  :rolleyes:

first pc game ever played:
shit that is too long ago on the Schneider machine of my older brother, some arcade shooter where you fly a plain able to land and start from an aircraft carrier, cant remember the name(edit:may have been Harrier). Then when i got me a c64 a lot of copied games followed, which back then was not defined as criminal.

Over the internet? Probably Team Fortress 2.  I was really late getting on board with Steam.

Yeah, I stuck with boxes for a long time, only 8 years of steam. First Steam game I bought was probably HL2.

The first game I purchased over the net? I actually think it was the beta of Mount and Blade.

It was also my first introduction to Steam too when I bought Warband retail and got burned when I realized I needed an internet connection to install it.

The "iternetz" was over 15 years away when I bought my first game. It was Lunar Landing and technically I just bought the source code from a magazine called Creative Computing in 1976. So while I still had to enter it on the TRS-80, I did buy it.

first game bought online was probably CoD MW2, anything before that was bought in a shop, or bought for me by my parents in a shop :p (or pirated)

Yeah, I ignored him, but if I must be restricted to online only, then it must have been Tanarus. It was originally the testbed for the Everquest engine, and was the basis for what became Planetside 1. Awesome arena game with 4 teams of 5 tanks all trying to steal each others flags from their bases and cap it in your own, though only really good teams were able to pull that off. The not so good teams just went at a 5v5v5v5 team deathmatch, but a flag pulling team would win handily because it was so difficult and worth so much (when you lose your flag, all tanks at the team die and respawn at their base and all players on the pulling team got 5 kills a piece).

I'm really sad that it was shutdown in 2010. Some buddies who were veterans of that game always talk about coding a clone with a modern FPS engine...sadly just talk  :cry:

I'm trying to remember... I think it was Half-Life 2, so that I could play Garry's Mod.

First game I ever bought with my own money? Golden Sun for the Gameboy Advance. Still one of my all time RPG favorites.

I only bought two games online and that was through steam, First M&B:Warband, then Garry's mod it was I think

All I needed was M&B
