Title: once again, again
Post by: darmaster on January 02, 2014, 02:46:18 pm
ping has gone higher, again; now, i haven't done anything to my connection (afaik), and i'm not asking you to fix it, but please tell me if something happened to the servers (yes on HREs is normal, as it is on every other game), at least i'd know whose fault is. anybody else having connection problem?

Your ISP is fucking with your ping.

except it's just on official crpg servers: this is making me quite doubtful

I have started to experience a similar problem. The thing is, I have different pings in different servers and they don't seem stable.

Only whilst playing cRPG do i have ping problems. Ever since double xp has been initiated my ping can be stable around 42 however i will get lapses of up to and beyond 600 ping for around 10-20 seconds before decreasing to 360 ping for a further 10 seconds before returning to normal. This is when noone else is on the internet in my flat and I'm not running any other programs.

i've had the same problem around 2 months ago, except it was worse; it used to reach 120-140, now it's "just" 90 (normally it would stay around 50).

I had 50 ping like a month ago, then it got raised to 60 some time ago. Now either 60, 67 or 84. I enter lets say eu_1, it is 67; then I enter DTV, 84; Duel: 61. vica versa. :?

Use some VPN servers (preferable located in germany) when your ping is going higher. This is what I do, still it's not perfect solution, but having 50 ping instead of 100 is sure much better.

Had the same problem, it's routing issue. Thankfully my ISP stopped with that. HRE server and EU servers have different hosting provider, that's why you can play normally on HRE. Wish cRPG EU servers used the same hosting as HRE do.

I had the same issue with a ping going insanely high and then back down after a while.

I noticed that it always happened when my smartphone was checking emails and rss feeds over my wlan. Since I turn off my smartphone wlan whenever I play crpg, it hasn't happened again :)

How can that possibly work

I found this on forums, and this is for those who got a shit connection. It's how to set priorities about connection, and it can gives you a better ping.

Having ping issues in cRPG since months. I play with a ping between ~49 and ยด~400, totally random.
Recently respecced to x-bow because I could not stand the fuckin 0 chances I had in melee half of my playtime.
Bye Pitch Fork, I will love you on my alt when I have a good ping
In every other game my ping is relatively stable around 50 but here it's constantly fuckin me up, especially on EU_2.
I will soon change my provider and D-LAN devices anyway, hope it gets better after the change.

Had con problems some time but not for quite some time now. Works pretty fine except for some highping-periods that happen very rarely and dont last longer than a couple of minutes.

because it changes the routing entirely so that you don't have to hop through the shitty nodes your ISP have set for you.

Well i am not sure how it exactly works for you but for meping issues are starting every day at around 5 pm, before that it is all fine. I had exactly same issue with previous server host. I did some tests in the past and there was no wierd ips, like the signal would go poland-france-germany where the server is located. I am not really an expert so i could post tomorrow some tests and would nice if somone who has the knowlege and some expiernce with this kind of things could take a closer look at this.

I get random horrible ping spikes @ college house with nobody else home. But smooth sailing at mummy and daddy's. methinks its ISP related.
