O I know! I did this a lot during my courtordered 10 year therapy. It is a pregnant two headed eagle from Chernobyl.

No its not, the design maynot be historically accurate, but everything else is.

The eagle, the colour, the raven in the middle and the nordic sun at the back.

Plain perfection.

Colour would be better in Blue, but then the Banner would look like Nords and the Byzantium Style would be gone.

Panos banner is fine.

you are making mercs mistake
maybe if you will keep background bit simpler

It will also help with back because you can put only color there without that fancy texture

I don't think varangian guard is supposed to wear heraldic armour so that shouldn't be a problem;)
