The last time I played hybrid archer was with Langes Messer and Tatar Bow, 15/21. Now quivers' weight was increased to some tons, so this does not work anymore I think. Langes Messer is too short for only 7 Athl with this weight.

For melee, you need at least 5 PS and a +3 weapon or 6 PS, and some decent athlectics (would not want to play with less than 6). The quiver slows you down so much though, you better get 8 Athl or more to compensate this effect.

I don't think hybrid archers are playable on level 30. I would recommend you this build for level 31, if you do not mind retiring at level 32 (you get 2 LP instead of 1 but also need double exp to reach it, peasant time is shorter, but you do not get +60 exp per tick more, but only +30 in the next gen):

I play crossbow melee hybrid in light armor and really think at 50 wpf are enough with decent athlectics. In case you do not feel like wearing leather but something chainmail-ish, I would go for 75. But if you plan to use really heavy armor, 75 are not enough.

Both arrows and barbed arrows are fine, in my opinion. With Horn or Tatar bow, you can land some deadly headshots with any arrow type (even though you need 2 head hits for heavy armored targets).

I am using leather scale armor/leather boots and gloves, actually.
In this case, go for only 50 wpf. Some melee veterans will now probably want to eat me alive, but with leather scale armor, you do not have an armor penalty on your wpf, and you will end up with more effective wpf as some tincan who put all their wpf in the melee category.
