You know, the guy who says that CoD on console is the best thing ever. That PC mods suck ball, that PC sux as well. He bought freakin' PC, not PS4 or Xbone.

Hey.....Consoles is still the master race since NES. I only bought it for 3 reasons. 1: PS4 was out of stock everywhere. 2: ARMA 3, Day Z and Rising Storm exclusives,  3: COD on PC cuz why the fuck not

I don't think anyone lives with windows 8, only a moron would get that on anything but a tablet.

Or, install a Linux distro for free and play most windows-only games using wine... It works much better now than a couple years back.

I don't have Win8 myself (mainly due to lazyness), but it's pretty much the same as win7 (but faster) with some easy adjustments, afaik.

Anyhow, boot up PC first time. This is basically what i see.

Have you tried windows 8 yourself? You do realize its identical to windows 7 but with a much faster boot and a more powerful search option.

There is no reason why you shouldnt get windows 8 if you can.

I really dont understand all the windows 8 hate, you dont have to use pannels. Just use the desktop, its basically windows 7 but faster and more slick.

We trust win7 and we're used to win7 so we don't want to even try win8. nono! Would have also stayed with Win XP if it was possible. :P

Well, i had the same mindset. I saw pannels for touchscreen and i bashed windows 8 without even trying it. Then curiosity got the best of me and im glad it did. I love XP and 7 but thats just nostalgia. I wouldnt go back, now that i tried 8

Actually used win8 on my sisters laptop, they went back to windows 7 and noticed absolutely no difference. The pricing for win8 over win7 is silly though?

Using 8 for quite a while now and never had any issues. And subjectively it seems to run modern games with lots of DX11 a tad faster than 7.

Tho I got the key for the Pro version free from my Uni - so pricing wasn't ever an issue for me.

They actually sold some where I life. I was at the shop just to by some cd's but some random guy asked me to help him out. They were only allowed to sell just one single console to each customer (probably cause there weren't many left, I'm sure they're all gone now) but he wanted to buy a second console for his friend. So he gave me the money and I bought it for him...
It's my good deed for christmas.  :mrgreen:

They are working on experimental support for DX10 games, good results so far. But why bother when soon we'll able to stream games to Valve Steam Machine. SteamOS is nothing other than Debian with Steam Big Picture.

Well I tried Win8 when it came out, no secret it was developed with Microsoft Surface in mind, now that that failed horribly waiting for another Service Pack or two to make things more PC friendly.

If anything using windows over the years has tought me is to wait atleast a couple SPs, I am a day one Vista survivor after all  :mrgreen:

Anyway this is for hipsters, running a hipster OS and playing hipster games, right ? Not many of these require more than dx9.


I have Win8 on my laptop, it's really just a slightly faster 7 with an additionnal app interface that you'll never use except for the occasional search and when you are forced to use the system tools that are apps. Apps themselves are made with tablets in mind so the interfaces are absolutely dreadful for pc, when they are not simply lacking essential functionality (example : skype metro vs skype desktop).
