Looks pretty rad, everything is procedural, you can travel anywhere, to and on any planet, everything is unique visitors can't see pics , please register or login

You see a star in the sky? You can travel there visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Very ambitious, and so far only made by 4 guys.

I went into that video with a lot of sceptism, left with an open jaw.

Looks promising, but I guess nowdays, with the amount of promising space sims floating around, delivery is everything.

Will definitely keep looking in on this, nice find :)

Cool. Sounds like a minecraft sort of thing right? Especially with the multiplayer aspect?

Also like the Dune inspired worms

wasnt expecting much but WOW glad I check these forums occasionally someone posts something actually interesting.

I always wondered when we would get a game where you can just get in a space ship fly to another planet, not just a seamless world but a seamless galaxy. and unless that was just some editing it looked like that in the trailer.

Also like the Dune inspired worms

this there was a huge dune and 80s vibe.

PS: I love the concept of starbound but just not interested in 2d platformer gameplay, this kind of feels like similar concept but actually very appealing to me.

That... was awesome.

I was just going to gloss over this thread but upon reading the comments.. I had to watch it and wow. That's an awesome trailer.

That looks amazing.

Nothing has been shown in terms of actual gameplay, don't get too hyped guys.

Wow looks really interesting, the first part in the ocean and on the planet really reminded me of Spore in early development ideas.

been watching more videos, damn this game looks something I would seriously like, might even have to invest in a PS4 since a desktop is out of my price rang. Stunning.

Slightly too colorful for me. Every planet you enter seems like a fairy tale rainbow butterflies land.

Looks like it could be great though.

Yeah, I'll play it for sure. But most people will exit the game after ten minutes. There is no gameplay, no story, not even grinding system like in Elite to make you feel you're doing something worthwhile. This is just an exploration game with beautiful randomly generated landscapes and is there to show what tech can do, more of a demo than a video game imho.

Still no depth, wonder is there any? I mean code that runs this game is surely something to behold but game itself, currently it is on same level as DICE Battlefront.

And it's not even like in Spore where you can have fun designing retarded creatures.

Honestly with the (soon) release of planets to Space Engineers I don't see a reason why I would pick NMS over SE. Sure it's prettier looking but that's kinda it.

And Horizons for Elite:
Planet landing, buggy exploration, character editor for actual faces and other things I haven't read up on...

Space Engineers is the real deal. Wish they had bigger funding and more quality people to work on it. Their space game is closest to megalomaniac idea others claim they want to achieve.

I kinda feel sorry for Sean Murray. He is constantly saying how game is exploration type yet people imagine it will be something deeply grandiose like Elite or maybe even more. Mostly PS4 gamers, they are in dire need of quality space game.

I just realized that in that first demo video the fade-in distance for geometry is stupidly short.

Also okay Space Engineers is cool, but does it has actual gameplay? And I don't count Minecraft Creative Mode-grade gameplay.

This looks incredibly cool. I'm usually not into stylized graphics but this game has it nailed, just the way I like it. Also whole idea looks lovely. Will get it as soon they finish the game.

Well, the game is out. Im sure you stoners are interested. I just wish the mining could be automated with drones or something, so i could explore for lifeforms and whatnot more than just standing around mining.

was hyped about NMS till the announcement , then Sony comes in , fucks all and suddenly NMS is considered an AAA game sold at 60 euro.
fuck off.

game seems enjoyable , chilly and such but no 60 euro for an indie game no pls.

Some mates were interested in that game because it looked like a finished Starbound (the somewhat dissapointing Terraria baby). If its not possible to coop in it, or at least try to get to do coop things, I dont see the point anymore, and I think a lot of people think likewise and are getting fucked if the multiplayer feature is non-existent.

even if it was possible, what exactly would you co-op in this game? naming a different color of an animal that you already saw 100x on other planets, just with your friends? this game is as deep as a puddle

A puddle that you cant share is infinitely less interesting   but thanks for your opinion on non-multiplayer issue

True, the saying "As wide as an ocean, as deep as a puddle" is very fitting for this game.

Starbound has been finished recently fyi. It still sucks massive cock and is nowhere enjoyable or addictive like Terraria. Dunno why, but I just can't force myself to play it. NMS looks exactly like 3d version of Starbound.

Yeah, it makes Elite: Dangerous seem like the most complex game ever made in comparison to NMS.

honestly just glad its coming out before I fly away on 20th, and that its on gog so there will be an easy torrent. because this is one of those games you really want to try out after years of hype, but probably won't hold my attention that long anyway.

requires opengl 4.5 card, mine is 4.4 aparently. so even though its powerful enough I can't actually launch the game. simular issues with old but powerful cpu's I believe.

what a load of shit.

exactly my experience with the pirated version.
it's not even chilly , you have to stay always alerted with sentinels , your penis is freezing , some animals are hostile , life support is decreasing , you have to mine because ...well because.
the only cool things are you can learn alien language , the vastity (of the same) planets and the landing on them imo.

Seriously the most mind numbingly boring thing. For an exploration game it doesn't even look good.

Shouldn't have had to download it to realize that. From everything they've said, and the videos they've shown, it's obvious it was going to suck.

What's impressive is that they managed to fool so many MSM outlets to talk about their game because it has "SEVENTY TRILLION PLANETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

No one, of course, stopping to consider that it's nothing but a marketing gimmick and their procedural generation is weak as shit.

Oh many did see past this scam but most people are so fucking gullible. They basically filled all the empty answers that Sean Murray gave with their own dream game and overhyped this piece of trash to fucking sky.

In fairness Sean Murray did out right lie. Problem is that it was so bloody obvious when he was lying it was pretty hiliarious to watch the interviews.

'Does it have multiplayer?'

*Nervous tick, looks away for a bit and says in croaky voice*

'Yes'

Pretty much the same way he answered all the questions that were blatant lies.

The more hilarious part is there are still people trying to defend it. Some of them with really retarded arguments. Probably just trying to justify to themselves a wasted $60.

It's fun to chill out and do some exploran.
Don't play before they patch the save breaking bugs though, ran into a few myself and it murdered my enjoyment of the game.
