Title: Best 2handed weapons (1H HYBRIDS EXCLUDED)

I was thinking about dicking around with some of the other 2handers besides the Bar Mace, despite it being a fantastic weapon itself. Played with the Miaodao and liked it too, but the cheaper Dao is much more sluggish, so bleh.

What do you guys think are the best 2handed weapons?
Based on personal experience and such.

For me its the "German Greatsword",
Great balance between swing and thrust damage, very long, maybe bit slow but shouldn't be a problem with enough weapon points and some experience,
also ... looks better than the Danish on light Kuyak(♥) !

I like "Great sword", it is pretty sword, glows blue in moonlight.

Also Meowdao is cool, abusable weapon.

HIGHLAND CLAYMORE.

It's seriously underrated. Hits like a truck, has a thrust, reasonably fast, longer than medium weapons but short enough to use against a group... an 18/24 or 27 build with a masterwork highland claymore and mid-heavy armor would totally wreck people.

If I had enough strength I'd definitely use one.

Agree with this!

+1 I used +3 HBS and +3 greatsword for a long time and they are nice weapons.... but about a month ago I traded for a highland claymore because I was stuck with +3 javelins and its the first chance I got to trade them away for something decent, and I must say... I love highland claymore. has damage comparable to 2h axes, with decent speed, good range, and a decent thrust. Fits my playstyle perfectly because I never thrusted enough when I used greatsword to make it worth it... I mean it has 6 swing damage over greatsword + it looks great with loom pack :3

After playing with a +3 highland claymore now for a little under a month... its secured its place as my favorite all around 2h weapon.

The bar mace is the best in Strategus, followed by Danish/German greatswords for anything else.

Seriously a Strat army without bar maces (most of them) is shit, tho thanks bro for the 90000 +1 morning stars I guess, my old friendgets.

Based on personal experience and such.

Obviously the HBS and Longsword are among the best.  However I spent 8 gens as a 2h and REFUSED to use them.  It's not challenging IMO.  There is nothing wrong with people who use such a powerful weapon and believe me....  some of them have plenty of skill.  But I always wanted to be different.  I never wanted people to attribute my victories to my weapon etc. 

The Two Handed Sword is nicely balanced.  It's not going to win any awards with it's stats but it fluid.  It's one of the few weapons which has enough speed to compete with Longsword spammers yet has a LITTLE extra reach allowing you to compete with longer weapons as well.  The Two Handed War Axe is fun believe it or not.  Again poor stats but it's very useful.  I had a lot of fun with the Persian Battle Axe.  It's funny as hell watching top notch 1h players over extend themselves offensively because they want to protect their shield.  The Great Axe is a better version of the Persian but difficult to find on the market.  The Long Iron Mace is a lot better than people realize.  It has a goofy stab animation which allows you to hit people point blank as if you were using a short spear.  The knockdown is also nice.  However my favorite 2h weapon has to be the Sword of War.  It's very long giving you plenty of build options.  It's pretty fast and hits pretty hard etc. 

It all depends on what you like.  Each weapon/build will force you develop a unique fighting style.  I constantly traded my gear for money so I was always adapting to something new.

I had more fun with that weapon on the duel server than any other.  That stab knockdown is awesome.

Grosse messer is strictly 1h, when he says 1h hybrid, I'm pretty sure he means weapons like the Langes Messer, Fighting Axe, Military Sickle, etc.

Anyhow, the best 2h depends on how good YOU are and how you plan to use it. I prefer the Dadao, just because I think it looks cool masterworked with Final Boss' Jarold's Heirloom texture pack!
