A certain player which I won't name always seems to take pleasure in instulting and whininig about ranged players yet he himslef is a 2h/thrower.
So my question do you consider throwers ranged, or are only Archers/Xbowers my old friends?

the homoeroticness is strong in them
so yes
-
Throwers are always close to fight, and they fight back in melee a lot.
High dmg output is balanced by low ammo on short range,
good thowers can be devastating but almost never capable of going hero mode and kiling half enemies team,
I say throwers are somewhere in between ranged and melee.
-
no
-
Nope.
PLus their dmg is a joke, unless its some dude with 10 pt and +3 throwing lance gimick build :?
-
They are ranged.
But mostly hybrids which will fight and i would like to see more hybrids then 100% dedicated archers/xbows/throwers.
E.G Omargazi cool thrower

Yeah right, they hit like fucking trains

My detective skills have led me to believe this is Hadraada, but yes he is whiney and just dont take any notice of him, like you would to Panos
-
their dmg is a joke? Tell that to godwin or mendro who take 50-70% of my life with a jarid when wearing 70 body armor :|
50-70% really? When I run around with 74 body armor them jarids barely even hurt. You must be lacking iron flesh, tank up more.
Also yes, throwing is kinda perverted melee/range. Like a bisexual being.
-
They are technically ranged, but lack most of the irritating features of what is usually assumed to be "ranged" in cRPGese
-
I voted yes, but only because there wasn't a "hermaphrodite" option.
-
They are throwing projectiles from a range, thus they are ranged.
-
Nope, theres a reason only infs in native have throwing.
-
Haraaraa?
-
I consider throwing in between "infantry" and "ranged". I voted yes however due to their projectiles they throw.
-
All throwers are ranged, some are nearly pure ranged and others hybrid

I did the same thing. I am a 2h/thrower and I think the this guy is describing "ranged" as the kiters that run away to reload and such whereas most hybrid throwers go right into melee after throwing the few projectiles they might have. OP does sound a lot like me though

jesus .. thread is ok .. but some post's .. ouch.

Honestly I feel like I operate at the same reach as most throwers with my pike, the amount of times I have gotten to stab those fuckers in the face with some good surprise movement and target switching, delicious.
Also, throwers scare the bajeezus out of me, fuckers never seem to miss me and hit like arbalests.
-
Pure thrower is ranged for me. If someone goes 6 - 7 PT but gets melee wpf and PS at the same time, he's a melee hybrid, therefore part of infantry.
A pure thrower most likely will stay on ranged, so he's not infantry and I guess most of these pure throwers won't join melee if it can be avoided.

I find the same exact player being whining about spam constantly while himself desperately trying to spam all the time, so I guess it's not a good example of what opinion you should take into consideration.

..this is it.

I hate throwers even worse than i hate crossbows. Scummiest of scum, urgh.

Comments this ignorant should trigger auto-mutes.

Typically I consider myself a thrower.
I don't see what the big deal with throwing is anyway, I had 8PT, +3 throwing lances and still couldn't hit shit, so everything seems to be normal.

By that same logic an archer with PS and melee wpf is a part of infantry too.

Considering the lack of accuracy on medium and long distance, the lack of noteworthy amounts of ammunition and tthe point investment necessary compared to Xbows... No, they are not ranged. Just melee with a sidearm.
-
They are ranged because they deal damage outside melee range, damage that can only be blocked by a shield. Some throwers hardly do anything useful with their throwing though, so I could think of them as melee
Having a thrower just behind his team mates has a similar effect to an archer if he is a dedicated thrower, it deters enemies from pushing, does a lot of damage (depending on the projectile), breaks/damages shields, and you can jump and throw over team mates
Archers/xbow are more annoying because of the ammo and accuracy, but throwers can still be deadly and fill a similar roll. Melee guys with throwing can get a free kill or so.

For me I consider throwing as a self defence first of all.. To me it works to keep cav away, and sometimes down them. The snowflakes are there to stop runners, interrupt people fighting (yeah, I feel dirty), stop xbowers from reloading and make archers dodge in stead of aim, to get the attention of the enemy.. It's also fun to backstab archers with a snowflake to the head. :D
Overall I find it gives me great flexibility, durability and lots of fun on the battlefield. I think I get more kills with my sword though, perhaps like 1/3rd of my kills are throwing kills, though the point investment is larger. It does save my ass all the time though.
If I think I have a decent chance of winning, I go melee. If I know I'm fucked, I throw. Sometimes I throw a snowflake just to piss the enemy off a bit before melee.. :D I only take Jarids when there's good heavy cav around, or I really want to win the round. Which means usually.

No, I do not :3
