I just don't understand anything.... =)
Lost 15 €

Played the demo/beta
Had some connection issue and such
Seems ok
The probelm is it doesn't feel ww1, when I played, everyone was up and moving, there wasn't any trench warfare and such
-
I don't think players would reenact trench warfare without things like permadeath.
-
Another boring ass "realism" RO offspring?
-
Good job wastin 15 eyros on a unfinished product, you should have saved it for the christmas discounts you dumb baguette muncher :)

Could be cool if they add in something other than rifles for people to use. Namely the SMGs and shotguns that were pioneered at the time. There's so many shooters that take place in the modern day that its refreshing to see WWI and WWII games nowadays. It's just that such a big part of WWI was simply strategic fumbling by the powers that be that makes it seem like a bad idea for a game. If you wanted to make a WWI game work gameplay wise, it would probably be best to use the eastern front as the huge steppes of eastern europe made trench lines very impractical, but few people in the western world care about the struggles of the east throughout history. A big reason why knowledge on the eastern roman empire is so sparse to the average person in the west, as well as eastern front of both world wars, even though the one in WW2 was the biggest clash of military forces in history. But I should stop before I devolve into a soap box about shitty world history education in the US....

Listen, all I need to know about world history is that the greeks made some sweet pots and we learned their god's names instead of the roman ones because I might get those confused with astronomy. Then some stuff happened before the great eagle found North America and we were so wicked awesome that the only one to stand up to us in a fight was ourselves so we kicked our own ass before we decided to help the world out in a couple wars that obviously were won because of us.

You can see that stuff in the British Museum. They had to put all these artifacts in London so the miserable foreign idiots wouldn't break them up for material to build outhouses and such.
-
It's mostly just because we enjoy stealing everyone else's stuff.
Also yeah this game looked pretty shitty, WW1 isn't going be a good setting for any FPS, an RPG with perma-death would be my dream game for this setting, you'd actually experience some of the terror those guys went through.
-
Quite buggy and glitchy, though the game patches 4 times a week. I hope it will someday be similar to Ro2
-
Just looks like RO to me.
-
Realistic WW 1 experience would be pretty terrible to play. I am pretty sure those guys would have whined on the forum if they could have.
-
Actually the trenches could make an interesting setting for alot of games, but an FPS is really not suitable especially with all the MMS war glorification.
-
From what I know about WWI, it was fought in trenches (as others stated already), grenades were main weapon, after that bayonets and of course artillery for bigger battles. If they focus on these aspects, other than shooting from rifles like in every other online FPS, I believe game could be quite fun to play.
-
Also it just seems so.... Clean
This is ww1 damnit I want everything to be covered in mud
-
Too arcade.
-
I tried and tried again...seems to be good eventually...

You'd be surprised. There was a WW1 mod for BF1942 and it actually played out really well. With trench warfare and everything. I had my doubts but I played it for quite a while. Would love to see a proper effort to make a WW1 era game.
I remember trench warfare being very tactical in that game. Fighting up zigzagging trenches, crossing between open ground. It required a lot of bayonetting and grenades plus a very fast trigger finger when you ran round a corner of a trench and were faced with a bunch of enemies shooting across at your team mates.
Designed properly it could be great period to base a game especially with the early tanks, machine guns ect.

Yeah, that's why I tend to think something like this would have been better down in those trenches than a rifle.

Nerf Officers, too OP, gets us all killed with stupid orders too often and if we don't follow them he kills us himself. Fucking quitting this shit.
