Video Card is more important than that. With a decent video card, you could run Warband fine.

Start ---> search ---> type "dxdiag" ---> check graphics card name under "Display", usually Nvidia or Ati Radeon or Amd

You could also just google your laptop brand and model.

Yep, it's an intel integrated graphics card. They are not really meant for gaming, as you've already noticed. Get a different laptop, or better yet, a desktop computer.

Maybe you can help performance a bit, if you allocated it a larger part of the shared system memory. During bootup, there should be a note on which key to press to enter setup, it's usually F2, F11, F12 or DEL. In there should be a menu that lets you assign from 8 - 512 MB or something of the system memory. It should be possible to allocate 256 for the VC on your system, or at least 128.

would the increase be noteable?

Depends on how much it's set at the moment. If it's already at 64, you won't notice a big difference, but going from 8 to 256 could help a bit.

It will still suck, but hey, you should be happy about every additional frame you can cram in per second.

It won't make a difference if you use Vista or 7.

On systems running Windows Vista* the graphics driver will ignore the system BIOS settings for memory allocation due to differing operating system requirements from Windows XP. Instead the graphics driver will allocate a combination of fixed and dynamic memory based on the amount of system memory detected.

Isnt there that Warband mod that literally removes like 70% of the textures and looks like complete shit but at least you could still play it, maybe. Have you tried that?

yeah I found it out aswell, it allocates memory as much as it needs from like 64 up to.. something. if i'd install XP, would it increase my performance?

yes ScaryTextures by Segd, didn't make it playable tbh, I might try it again, I think I picked the 50 % texture one.\

I don't really know whether Vista or 7 handle tight resources better or worse than XP, but if you're desperate, it's worth a try.
