Usually when I duel on EU3 and see new players, I try to advice them with the basic, today I think I found my alter ego

I'm a big fan of jumping with your thrust on a polearm, or jumping to sideswing around an ally who is directly in front of you.

Jumping from a non-damaging height will net you a heft speed bonus too, won't it? That's hard to do reliably, and impossible on many maps.

You can't jump on battle servers, because of range.

So feel free to jump on duel server

I do that too, but for me it's more like 50/50 in save/die, but I still can't live without the jump :)

I use jumping at duels aswell, especially against kick spammers, but I highly doubt saying to a new guy "Hey dude, I know that you only play the mode for like 10 days~, I know that you cant block jack shit, but keep jumping bro, you are in the right way!" will help him.

I tried to help a newbie once , he turned out to be gen 12... Felt like a noob afterwards...

Jump is useful in specific situations. Especially the whirling head slash right after your opponent has missed a swing.

It really doesn't, sadly. Used to fall from castle walls stabbing with corseque random enemy heads, and they insisted on surviving. :(

I always jump in duels, but that's just because I keep missing my 'V' key.

1v1 jumping is as risky as kicking: you can surprise the enemy, but if you don't catch them you're vulnerable long enough to be counterattacked.

In battle/siege/strat, jumping to land an attack is more effective. The enemy's focus is split, and a surprise maneuver such as jumping will catch them off guard frequently.
