March music is beautiful and none IMO can quite compare -- at all -- to the wonderful creations that came out of Germany (Prussia). No matter their history, they certainly knew how to both compose and perform great march music.

Ye i allrdy knew these, classics ;)

i recently found this one , not really a march song. its a german song, its from 1815 where the "german question" wasnt answered yet.
For those who dont know the german question is the question of whih lands and country should be inculded in germany.

Those marches are nice, I like those like in Napoleon TW with flutes, drums and stuff.

But it always reminds me of how irrational that warfare seems, impossible to think about it positively with a modern mindset.

Not that warfare is a good thing but you get it why.

Lack of camouflage, tight formations, marching into artillery fire, being a meat shield, etc

A spanish military march:

Especially in the region around and south of Valencia (where I am from), there are tons used for marches in the "Moors and Christians (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moros_y_cristianos)" festivities where people march to their sound of these in elaborate costumes representing the Moorish conquest and posterior Christian Reconquista.
They lose part of their military aspect, the regal tone and get more festive. I personally love them. For example, a moor and a christian march:

@benkei: oh, the Edinburgh military tatoo, was there a couple of years ago, amazing experience

There are so many pieces of March Music or Marching Songs (or in some cases patriotic or soldiers songs) from all kinds of countries that I enjoy, impossible to post them all, at least in one post.

EDIT:

if someone knos some spanish or scandinavian, russian marches : post pls, i tried to find good ones with subtitles but failed

My favourite Russian March in a vocal version, but without subtitles:

Le Boudin- Légion étrangère ( French foreign legion)

Tiens, voilà du boudin, voilà du boudin, voilà du boudin
Pour les Alsaciens, les Suisses et les Lorrains.
Pour les Belges y en a plus.
Pour les Belges y en a plus.
Ce sont des tireurs au cul.
Pour les Belges y en a plus.
Pour les Belges y en a plus.
Ce sont des tireurs au cul.

English:
Here you are, some blood sausage, some blood sausage, some blood sausage
For the Alsatians, the Swiss, and the Lorrains,
For the Belgians, there's none left,
For the Belgians, there's none left,
They're lazy shirkers.
For the Belgians, there's none left,
For the Belgians, there's none left,
They're lazy shirkers.

You can find the rest of the lyrics here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Le_Boudin

No sausages for ze Belgians

Btw native French speaker, how would you translate "Ce sont des tireurs au cul"?

the start of the first one reminded me this

The 1st one is an edited version of the original one(the 2nd link i posted), but it's the only sung version that i have  found on youtube.

I'm gonna go around singing Le Boudin, edited by me

Here you are, some blood sausage, some blood sausage, some blood sausage
For the Alsatians, the Swiss, and the Lorrains,
For the Milanese, there's none left,
For the Milanese, there's none left,
They're fog eaters my old friends.
For the Milanese, there's none left,
For the Milanese, there's none left,
They're fog eaters my old friends.
