How many slots do shields take up? I can't find the location of their slots, if they have any, and equipping one doesn't seem to change my slots on the website.
Edit: How many slots does the plate covered round shield take up?

0-2 depending on the shield. But only a few are 0. Most are 1-2. More are 1 slot than 2.
Which shield(s) are you looking at or using?

Round Steel Buckler - 0 slot
Shields < 8 weight - 1 slot
Shields >= 8 weight - 2 slots

yes .. but i tought <> 6 weight ..(some shields above 6 & under 8 weight are 2 slots) correct me, if i'm wrong.
also .. steel buckler (5 diffic.) 0 slot.

This is correct, apart from the Board Shield (8 weight) which is still 1 slot.

Just put 4 points into shield skill and get a knightly heater shield, or knightly kite shield (good resistance to crossbow bolt penetration on these shields). Or if you only want to put 3 points into shield skill, the heater shield is pretty good. All 3 are only 1 slot.
I personally don't see any reason to put more than 4 points into shield skill, aside from being able to pickup some of the 5 shield skill shields on the ground that people drop.

1.
Good for everything other than protecting you against ranged who know how to aim. (aka, will stop bolts from penetrating and will do fine in melee, but expect to be shot in the leg/around the sides if you have less than 6/7 shieldskill.
