Hello
I had a looong break from crpg and it looks like i didnt miss much changes on strat ( went off when bugs started to f**k strategus ).
So how about implement a food and supply options on strat? So lets say every village will produce food, castle + neighbour villages under the same clan control will gain a benefit in production, town + castle + villages .... yeah i think you get it :-)
Off course troops will need food, you can send caravans from food storages to fiefs which doestn have enough production for the stored troops. So we have 2 points with this implemention, putting thousands of troops into a town will work for a short time, but if food is gone, troops will disappear, revolt or whatever. And 2nd point is we would have another important trading good AND maybe new strategical tactics will show up then.

suggestions for strat are like patching a single hole in a boat made from a cheese grater.

YESSSS
But it will never happen (big update to strat, lol), and some people think it's too much micromanagement.
http://forum.melee.org/strategus-general-discussion/suggestion-create-%27food-stores%27-that-control-how-large-a-garrison-can-be/
I personally think it's a great idea. It would lower the amount of troops you can garrison in a fief, and it would also make it possible to starve out a fief (like actual sieges could do) and force them to sally out or slowly starve to death.
it also gives people a reason to hold onto villages instead of immediately turtling into castles/cities.

I think it's a nice idea but too much micro management.

Too much my ass

But in these "realistic long term sieges" wouldn't you just wait outside a fief and block any caravans? How is that fun or give off near as much exp as sieging a castle 10 times to finally capture it?
I like the idea of it from a strat player perspective, but as a c-rpg player aswell I enjoy the exp from these sieges which the long term siege would take away from me.

... too much micro management.
a lot of thigns in strat are already too much in that compartment.
Then again it depends how that idear would be implemented, it can be without the feared hideous micro.

If you store enough of the food, then it is the same as with the gold atm, nothing really changes
But if food vanishes without being eaten, because it becomes bad after a while
 Starvation

That is for me not the argument. Overland battles are more joyfull for both sides , then these everlasting sieges where you need to attack 10 times the same fucking location to bring it down.
Also overland or siege, you need ressources on both sides that it would coem to a fight. There is no difference for 'your xp' if regualr overland battles would be fought, or a besieging clan is safing up ressoruces till he thinks he can take a castle or town. Surly for the defenders there is a differnce in loss of tickets, but not for the mercs.

Now you can vote for it! Im wondering if admins will take a look at this "idea".
