Hey, I was wondering what kind of builds that are good for a 1h build, I don't think I'll be using a shield much. I think it just slows you down too much and you're a bundle of sticks if you spam downstab and hold your shield up.

I used this build, worked great
lvl 30
15/24
2IF
5PS
8ATH
8WM
Switch out 2IF for 2 shield if you want.

I liked my 24/15 with side sword. Low armor, stabity stab.

I can confirm. This is an excellent build for 1h.
I used blunt with this and rekt. It definitely sucks against a plate user with a lot of IF since you gotta hit them 6 or 7 times and they just need 1 but its a good challenge. Very fun.

These 3 things are the easiest:
-Target lightly armored melee/ranged
-Carry a blunt/pierce weapon or blunt/pierce weapon + sword (wpf offsets weapon repairs)
-Move around quickly in melee and help provide supporting hits on even heavier infantry. Easiest to help a teammate who is doing a 1v1 or a 2v1 where 2 teammates are struggling.
You could get a good KD from killing those lightly armored targets and good score from helping teammates with tankier foes. If you knock someone down, try to get in a running held hit. If you get a kick afterwards, hold the swing for a moment before hitting.
Up-front line fighting is the hardest from my experience, since you'll just have heavily armored enemies backpedaling with really long overheads and stabs. You could also fight on the side. 1on1 with a cut weapon is still decent, just expect anywhere from 2-5 good hits depending on how you hold and move. It's much easier to stay back, choose a target you could help a teammate with, get a hit or two in (if there are enemies next to him), then back off.
I also recommend wearing a bit of armor and decent gloves. I tried really light armor and it's nice, but you can't easily mitigate damage from causing your foe to hit very early/late in the swing. Armor weights around 6-12 still allow you to move fast with decent durability. Try to find a sweetspot where you die in 3 hits more often than 2.

This, but don't take more WM than 6 if you're going for pure 1hander. Those points will be more handy in shield skill or if.
-
If you want shield skill, that definitely works well. Not sure about 4hp over having an easier time landing hits. 2 shield is also pretty decent for certain maps with a lot of ranged and no cover. Don't need to bring a shield every map.

Alright thanks :) I'm gonna go 15-24
8 ath
5 ps
2 shield
7 wm
1 if
Ill grab a brynja and a pronoia helmet or Phrygian or however you spell it
-
Lose the IF. Get 3 shield. Brown Lion Heater is a great shield.
-
Yes get the brownlion don't even go for IF on 1h agility you will be to fast anyways most of the time to even get hit if you move out quickly
the brown lion is a excellent shield to go with.
-
What would be a good 1h weapon, I was thinking Italian, spathovaklion or scottish
-
I'd go blunt or use that top tier axe that can go pierce/cut for fighting shielders. Carrying two weapons ends up being a burden and having to fight a full plate whore (90% of the server) with a cut weapon with 5 PS will make you want to slit your wrists. A little birdy told me that stabby swords are getting nerfed so I would steer clear of the Scottish Sword for now!

I would either say spath or war hammer IMO I made the mistake of picking a niuewadao instead of one of those and I regret it and I loomed it
