Had a fuck ton of hackers and server wipes but with the steam implement I've heard it's been contained mostly for now. I can't really get into it though myself at the moment since shit can be griefed so easily over night when you're not online.

It's much less grindy. I wouldn't even say it has grind unless you're making some huge structure, in which case you'll need to gather a lot of wood/metal. You don't have the terraforming option neither are you actually leveling or anything like that, the only way you can improve yourself is with new armor and weapons and it's not a grind to craft them.

Yeah VAC is now implemented, I have yet to meet a hacker. Shit can be griefed if you don't have a proper structure with metal doors, in which case they'll need 3x C4 to blast through one doors and you can make multiple of those. That's if you don't build the house like we did (check screenshot again) - we have no first  floor basically, so the only way to get in is to jump from the rocks on the right, which practically makes the base unraidable.

there is this mod for it which makes the game considerably harder and adds and fixes a lot of stuff

Actually it´s damn hard.

like you jump down somewhere because you saw a chest and suddenly 20 thiefs masterthiefs and other thieves spawn and spam you with throwing daggers...

Or 5 headless berserkers spawn in front of you while a pack of wraiths block your retreat way and freeze you :/

It´s pretty much the only mod for the game though... :D

Bought this game back when it was new, "played" for 10 minutes, uninstalled and returned it for full price.

Most of my screenshots are not on steam (even though I have a lot there) most are just stored at home.  So my ss's are limited here.
