Title: Community poll : "Provide character stats" always on

There is a strategus update soon,

I think its a good time to do community polls on relatively small features that could be easily added into the game,
(like with the "commander" poll for cRPG)


So here I propose that when you apply to a strategus battle, you automatically provide your character stats so that the faction managing the roster can have a better control over what kind of soldiers he will be having.

80%+ YES would convince the higher-ups its a good idea.

I know some people who want to hide their build because it is so special they dont want anyone to use the same...

For me, well I often just forget to click the box for it, so maybe just make the box ticked always so the lazy people like me always do it when they forget about it. or just change the text into "dont show char stats" instead of the current one

While I support this, it's most likely not going to happen because people REALLY need to protect their cookie cutter 2h builds.

It's pretty hard to hide your build.  Really.  Sauce tried for a while until I wouldn't let him into my exp events.  Eventually he relented and I saw his build.  My estimates were all within a skill point of what he actually had, attributes were spot on naturally.  But for that month, he got to pretend he was in the cool kids club.

I think this would be a very good idea and very simple to implement.


A more complex idea (which would require someone putting a little time into scripting it)
They could make it so it only shows certain stats, but these are always visible.
Strength (as it's a requirement for weapons and armor)
All wpf above 1
Riding if 1 or above
Shield if 1 or above
Power Draw if 1 or above
Power throw if 1 or above

Is this new? Because everyone I know just says what their build is whenever anyone asks.

Welcome to NA. People are scared to show their builds cause they think that builds makes players good.

There was a time min-maxing, metagame guides and high levels were unknown to most.
The cRPG playerbase is now very well educated and all builds have been thoroughly experimented at one point or another, by more or less everyone.
Providing your build publicly would only add some fuel to the eternal circle of "think-play-switch" characters.

Not to add than like Anders said, build =!= skill.
