Title: Target Practice in Duel...
Post by: The Wicked Reach on October 30, 2013, 03:20:45 am
It can be difficult when trying to learn the accuracies of different bows and xbows, not to mention the affects of wpf's.

I'd like to see some archery ranges put in the duel maps with these features:

1.  The very basic---a bulls-eye target
2.  A training dummy                                *thanks Murdertron*
3.  Distance Markings--- 20ft, 40ft, 60ft and so on
4.  Maybe a pop-up (perhaps in chat) that says how close you were to the target, amount of damage done, or at least that you hit it
5.  A MOVING TARGET MAYBE?

I await your remarks on my genius

You need a mapper to do this. Otherwise, as devs are lazy, they won't add anything.

Oh, and also, +1.

We need a training dummy that tells us our damage and speedbonus too.

Actually, your item balancers need it more than us.  They are trying to balance in the dark.

Why not add some training bots like some native duel servers ? Those bots (on native) can block everything, and players can only kill them with kicks/freehits.

I just pick a post or tree and shoot at it.

You can do that, but for far distances it can be difficult to make out where your arrow/bolt ended up unless you get closer, but by doing that it's difficult to determine how to aim your next shot when you get back to your position.
