After insta-30lvl'd I can't retire, two new links at the bottom of page, correct text in retirement section (30 xp instead of 100xp), working filters in eq page, option to set your Strategus character...

I can't see more differences :)

Would love it If you could offer Gold for an heirloomed item. Not possible atm though. :)

As it works now:  Seller: Merc_Burr1ck   Offer: Great Maul   Request: Mighty Great Maul, 9500 gold
He offers a Great Maul and wants a heirloomed Great Maul AND 9500 Gold.

It would be awesome (and work more as intended i think) when you could do this:
Seller: Merc_Burr1ck   Offer: Great Maul, 9500 gold   Request: Mighty Great Maul
So you offer a Great Maul AND 9500gold for a Mighty Great Maul.

Makes more sense in my humble opinion.

Now we'll have clan leaders force their archer subjects to farm and transfer gold 24/7 so that all those Plazeks can ride around in max equip all the time.

You need to first choose your main character.

You can only see it on your "Main Character", your representative for Strategus. Can verify that it is up, and that nuffen is asking 500k and a straw hat for a Lawlpike.

It's disabled for STF chars (too abusable, obviously).

I don't see the point in it anyway, STF chars have no heirlooms to trade (as they can't retire) and they are not playing long enough to collect the sums needed to buy heirlooms anyway.

Can you restore my old char, then? Please, noone informed me about that. PLEASE.

Well I know it may seem to be obvious, but either i get old char or I quit cRPG.

And the next thing, nobody  accept  my offers (Well Bred Courser) for a long time, I make +3th heirloom (Champion Courser).
What then is happening with my offer?

OK, I have it  now-"remove".
And protip I just lost the plated charger for removing it from the list. :O

Its actually working quite well.  Most of the trades are going on in the forum marketpalce before setting a price on the webpage marketplace.  Those trades go through almost immediately so you don't see all those successful trades going through.

Ozan, furthermore, if you want to start using it, you have to delete your character, create a new one and start everything from 0. Like me...

I really think chadz should give us back our old characters (pre-insta-30lvl) cause noone informed/warned us about no funny stuff if we choose insta-30lvl.

Really. I. Had. 230k. Gold. I. Could. Buy. A lot. Of. Things. But. Of course. I. Didn't. Know. What. Will. Happen. If. I. Retire. After. Insta-30lvl. And. Furthermore. I. Didn't. Know. That. I. Will. Be. Forced. To. Remove. My. Character. Cause. It. Was. Bugged. To. Hell.

I want zeh old character with 2nd gen 230k gold Thick Steel Shield!

So what's the deal here, you can only trade with your main character?  Can alts trade with each other?  If I can't trade with all of my characters, it's going to be pretty tough to pick a main, since I don't care about Strategus too much.
Title: Re: New website feature: marketplace
Post by: Socrates on May 15, 2011, 02:59:50 am
I don't see the reason why alts can't trade. It's not like they get any starting bonuses or what not. They level the same and grow the same as main characters. Even slower since most alts are a lower Gen than your main. I understand only a main for Strategus, but any reason to bar alts out of the market?
Title: Re: New website feature: marketplace

I thought it was going to be like Mains trade with other mains and alts trade with other alts. I would like it this way. Mainly so I can give everything to my favourite alts and delete my shitty alts I dont like.

Also I can see no trade system on the website. I picked Ninja_Korgoth as my main and I also deleted my cache, Im using Firefox and I dont see anything .

and i think you need to get some sort of transaction paper for every transaction you make on the market, including buyer, seller, sold item, recieved gold/ item and the date and stuff.
this should also let you redo your transfer if you bought a straw hat for 500000gold by miss-clicking. there has to be a sub-board for these things in market. and than the moderator of the board will deside if it was a foul-deal or a miss-click.

I'd like to see clearly if something has already been heirloomed.
Perhaps a color difference like light blue, silver and gold.

Also a sort witch excludes all f.e. none heirloomed or heirloomed,
which only shows master work etc.
And i know shift+F, but still it is not very comfortable.
If you want my help with the scripting let me know, been there done that.

Also it should be allowed to trade items freely between mains and alts for one reason, anyone who invested time in their characters should have the freedom to do with it how they please.
If there are concerns about abuse somehow, which i don't see atm, there can still be rules implemented.

If clanmates want to push their leader with items, which i for myself wouldn't want because the feeling of accomplishment is going away through this, but if they want to see their master shin, then it should be their choice aswell, if he is a bad player some good items wouldn't make a big difference, after all there so many balancing meanwhile that this isn't that big of deal in my eyes.

One last thing, what if there is another respec? Till now if i understand correctly, respec was based on generations, please remember that for an upcoming respec(if so) there are more heirloomed items in an account then actual generation could accumulate. Meaning i hope those don't get lost if there are heirloom points to redistribute again.

Guys, if you are having trouble with marketplace not appearing with Internet Explorer, try another browser. Safari worked, IE didn't.

I thought it was going to be like Mains trade with other mains and alts trade with other alts. I would like it this way. Mainly so I can give everything to my favourite alts and delete my shitty alts I dont like.

I think that's exactly what chadz wants to avoid.

This change sure makes it popular to play with cheap gear, since you can buy heirlooms with gold.

In order to stop all these bullshit offers, they should add a fee of, let's say, a 1000g for each entry.

i was thinking to give some money via marketplace to next tournament winner, are the prices of unloomed items caped? or is there a possibility how just to transfer money to sbdy?

Good idea! Well the prices aren't caped, there is a way to give money to someone (he needs to offer nothing and demand money, I've seen some entry's like that)

anything is doable but it always depends on time i guess. Easier way to give the tournament winners something for their accomplishment is if you yourself as holder of the tournament do collect "Starting Fees"
100k per team sounds reasonable, as the one who has the work with it wouldn't mind if you keep a share of that gold ;)

Problem you have to coordinate the selling of straw hats , so you know who actually paid the fee.

The best way to give money to someone is to make him create an offer asking for the amount of gold and offering a straw hat or something like that. And 100k per clan is way too much for a simple tournament, especially when some clans aren't there for winning.

Maybe it has been overlooked, but I would appreciate it if the new stuff -whats new since your last visit at the marketplace- appeared in a different color.

Also, not all items in one big marketplace, but different smaller places, one for horses, one for weapons, like its in native.

These two changes would make it a lot easier to find the stuff you really want.

Me for example prefer buying a light armor at the normal shop, because in the time I need to go through all these items I can grind the gold on the servers..........

How is the "good price/bad price" worked out? Average sales?

Requested price for non-heirloom item > base price for said item -> bad price. Simple as that, just meant to weed out the obvious tricksters. Note that you can still sell overpriced items, now its just even harder to buy them by mistake.

Ok, so this doesn't apply to heirloomed items then? Just the bog standard ones.

That I agree with.

Yeah, only applies to normal items. And it doesn't do anything except color the price red so poor newbies can see someone is trying to trick them. They can still be tricked, just makes it a little harder.

For heirloomed you may use next way - (offered_item <= requested_item) && (offered_item_heirloom_level <= requested_item_heirloom_level ) = bad_price

P.S. It's will be nice to add option - "show heirloomed offers only"

show heirloomed offers only would be better. and 'hide heirloom requests'. and 'hide requests with no offers'

Maybe you can add a offer expire time, so all those ridiculous offers get automatically removed after maybe 3-7 days?
Perhaps combined with a placement fee like x percantage of the item buying price (so straw hats are cheap to trade :P )

Ok, for some reason, I can't place items on the marketplace any more. All menus read the same, and everything works as it did before, except that when I place an item up for sale, then check the list, the item for sale isn't there.

Also, it would be great if you could simply add the option to GIVE cash or items to people. So that deals/bets/entry fees/etc could be made/used.

I had planned/posted in in the events section about using the marketplace to take entry fees for an NA gold tournament using 100k and 200k peasant clothes, but those clothes were removed from the marketplace for some reason. It would be great if a feature were added to simply sent people items or money without having to request something in return.

Had the same problem...before i realised the simple solution.

You have two boxes...

1) Heirloom offers only
2) Heirloom requests only

Make sure these boxes are not ticked, then when neither are ticked, press ctrl+f and type your name in. It will zoom to your character offer quickly and with little fuss.

If this doesn't solve your problem, then im not sure whats wrong, but try logging off then deleting your cookies before relogging in.
