Last night i was getting an error when i launched crpg with WSE2 so just to be able to play i turned it off!!
My ping went from 72-96 to a consistent 62  :D :D :D
My FPS went from a consistent 40-50 to now a consistent 100-120  :D :D :D
And overall my performance is so much better, i would suggest everyone tries this...

playing with DX9 or 7 if WSE2 turned off?
cause WSE2 is DX9

Um how do i check which one i am playing with when it is turned off? Although i think 7.

Is the game ugly(7) or meh/average(9)?

I get consistently low ping and steady 120 fps (even when I play other games at the same time).
Sounds like you have a really shitty computer if the data can drop your network latency.
-
I dont know what it is, but since i put WSE2 off my performance is 10 out of 10, before it was 7 out of 10. My laptop is Intel core i7 with nvidia gforce 745m.

As it is a laptop, make sure the computer is actually using the dedicated graphics card and not some intel crap

for me...
With WSE2 steady 120 fps. Ping 66-76
Without WSE2 fps jumps all over the damn place from 5 to 120 but generally lower numbers. Ping 66-76.
p.s. game looks waaaay better for me with WSE2.

This game was/is/will always ugly.

I feel bad for anyone who doesn't run WSE2 and, although the game is pretty barbaric, some of the textures are extremely nice. Brigandine over mail imo looks quite beautiful.
