Title: Regarding Performance Ratings
Post by: HardRice on October 23, 2013, 04:37:30 am
Do many people actually check performance ratings before hiring?
Just curious    :D

Probably not... people that hire often, already know which player are good.

Here's a quick guide of thing to do to get accepted in a Strat Fight.

1- Be in the TS for rolecall.
2- The fight is for your own faction or close ally.
3- Be higher than lvl 31.
4- Be a well known high skill player. (in whatever class you play)
5- Be known to listen to order on TS. (or not being a solo dick who do whatever he want, notable exception is Allers  see point 4)
6- Be a well known engineer.

That's all I can think off ATM. If someone got some to add feel free! :)

7- Be ranged and not totally inept at it.

8-) performance is not very exactly.
when I have a high performance score like 5 or 6, maybe I will have a less kill or more die on next battle. Then performance score down.
on the other hand, when I have 1 or 2 performance score, I can kill more than 20 and less than 5 die on next battle. Then performance score up.
It's a cycle.
 But the above-mentioned content only if I'm an archer. The engineer is my part-time job.

Ive found that performance does not mean so much as 'who' you are. If people do not know you, then you are much less likely to get into a battle. Showing up on time and letting people know you are there also helps a bunch, just do not be annoying about it. Maybe politely message a member of the clan who is around and ask for help, but do not spam the channels or pokes on people.

True, good example is Ermax...who never has a high performance, but the guy is a pro engineer, highly valuable , always willing to be engineer

gets accepted everytime, and why not? good engineers are huge assets

I'm an anti-performance type of player because I solo-yolo at the opposing side's flags and equipment. Usually I go 1|1 which is just fine for my line of work, but I still feel bad when I get the occasional .5/1.
(click to show/hide)

Engineers also have a very low performance rating so the best way to gauge skill is to do what has already been mentioned, that is playing in the battle server and knowing our community.

This is me too, only with even less success.  Defending sieges are especially bad, because I think nothing of jumping out onto a good ladder and wrecking it point blank, which usually ends up with several enemies dying along with me, but nothing in the way of kills.

Yeah i'm pretty shit but I get put on because I head a relatively active faction and can follow orders. Well when im not shitfaced on sailor jerry's. Sorry about that last one kesh..... lol Got too rowdy at an Acre lan

Learning engineering is a super easy way to get on rosters. There are not that many effective catapult teams in the realm and so if you can get good with that on duel server its an easy way in. But like it was said before find a niche and learn how to exploit game mechanics in your favor.

Getting into an active faction on strategus will also greatly benefit your chances of getting onto rosters. People need to know who you are, be able to count on you not to flake and not to feed.
