After a dark fortelling by which Fenrir would consume Odin at Ragnarök.
The Æsir betrayed Fenrir and tricked him into binding. Fenris only satisfaction was by biting of Tyrs hand.

Lupus was second choice also as clan name, but latin aint as fitting as the nordic mytholgy when it comes to wolves in my mind  :lol:

Another nice one would be Isegrimm, which is said to be "grey Wolf" and also describes to some extent a desease or menace ^^ but then Isegrimm_kinngrimm ...

This clan will only merc in strat battles but we wont fight for land and engage in politics. Any fief which would be given to us would be still owned by the clan/faction who gave it to us therefor also used by that originating faction. We are not aiming to attack anyone within Strategus, till at a time we would have a substantial amount of members(at least 20), and those would vote with at least 70% to participate in Strategus ... Calradia is safe from any plots out of the cruel and nasty fangs of kinngrimm  :twisted: for now. Serously though one thing i didnt miss in my absence is to take care of fucking Strategus all the time. It is a great game in some areas and it is a fucking clusterfuck in other areas. So sry but for me no deal anymore ... fuck strategus  :wink:

Both tags mean wolf, Ulv being the older one and varg being the present word in Swedish. I think its shared in both Norway and denmar however I am not sure.

It aint bad, but if then i would like a combination from the old banners color and perhaps that new Wolf without the chains, where i needed to look closer to reckognize that they are chains and not tentackles ^^

if you are still bored =), the color scheme we had from start with the original banner had several reasons, the dark set was so if someone would use some kind of heraldic armor , that they wouldnt be easily spotted on the battle field.
Therefore dark grey, dark blue and black mainly. The emblem of the Wolf was contrary to the not being spotted easily approach and a compromise as the contrast of the white emblem on the dark background colors just looked good =)

The Wolf you used, is in a resting position and not really threatening, while i do feel at times like that mywself i think it may subconstiously send the wrong message. The original emblem aswell was more of a compromise as it showed close to nearly not a wolves head from the shape and not being overwhelming in its presence. The thought there was, at a time the clan has a good crew running, people know it implies buisness coming their way when they see that banner. So i am more for an overall conversativ approach. Feel free to have another go with the addional information.

besides the shield behind the head the shape of that wolf is quite ok, but also perhaps a bit too agressiv, if the mouth would be a bit more clsoed while the teeth could still be seen in this fashiion. Eye color light yellow instead of read.

anyone who wants to have a try on a new Fenris banner here would be the things which it would need to fullfill:

background colors:
dark grey to black and dark blue, pretty much as in the original Wolves banner
Wolf Head:
either to be seen from front or the side doesnt matter, but it should be in good enough contrast to the background, perhaps in a medium to light grey, white also is ok
Also not too complex shapes, simplicity in the form over hardly to recognizeable shapes, after all it is a heraldic banner
eye color:
bright light yellow

I like wolves (the animal ^^) so i thought id make two banners real quick (like 5 mins) im rubbish at it so haven't changed eyes etc from the image i erm borrowed from the nets :D And good luck im not a fan of current wolves leadership so LL Fenris ^^ (images not really simplistic but i might do a proper one later ^^ I just like this image <3

I like the feeling i get from that wolf, he is like waiting for his chance, close before he leaps to attack .. out of the dark.

the background pattern aint quite fitting to this bigger emblem/heraldic center image.  Not sure ...while i see it as a must to have black sorrounding the silouette of this particular wolf to get the imagination going, the blue needs to be included differently, perhaps like a night sky only at top and gradually smoothing into the black.

So .. Started working on the banner after talking with kinngrimm and hearing what he'd want in it. Turned out pretty complicated and not working too well, so we toned a few things down and reworked on it. Somethings just might look amazing on an comissioned artwork, but are overkill on a banner. I prefer to keep things simple.

Here's what we've gone through and some simple idea I'd prefer.

First is the sketch:

no you didnt as one of the images you posted was the base of the drawings from Kass.

well yours and grandmoms mostly, also Osiris crontributed some idears

in the end every image helped as it helped to form our imagination how we wnated to have it

it has something develish, demonlike to it ... then as Kass told me, hey we are talking here about Fenri the motherfucking ueberwolf guarding the Underworld ..

edit: my favorit was 4:1 from the ton of banners. Now it is the latest version, i am looking now for runescript which says Fenrir, if soemthing like that actualaly exists

I also read different versions, i also read out of 2 different translations of the edda.

I think we can take a bit freedom and create our own mythology ... to some extent, aslong it is not compeltly contradicting the edda in whatever version/translation.


"..."Fenrir" appears twice in verse as a common noun for a "wolf" or "warg" in chapter 58 of Skáldskaparmál,..."

after reading the complete englsih wikipedia entry on FEnris ^^ i would sum up the story like this:

Because of a fortelling(supersticious gods that starts well ^^) Odin and the other Æsir intended to bind Fenrir.
The way of doing it was by creating strong bands/colars/chains and trick Fenrir into wearing them to test if he would be strong enough to break them.

They produced iron bindings and others which he broke free from. In the end they let dwarves craft from 6 mysterious materials a chain.

Fenrir was cautious and didnt trust this smoth material and said to the Æsir, that if they put that on him and he wouldnt be able to break free, they wouldnt release him.
The gods said sure we would release you  .... so Fenris asked them that one should put his hand in his mouth and Tyr did so.(dude really where is your sence of reality are you mad?)
The Æsir then put the band on Fenrir and he wasnt able to break free and they didnt release him and so Fenrir bit of Tyrs hand.

Betrayel through sacrifice with outcome that Fenrir was bound afterwards till Ragnarök, then at worldsend in a battle it is fortold he will swallow Odin and Vidanr(REvenge) will afterwards kill Fenrir ... then again till that happend the Moon the Sun and everything already is swallowed aswell so ... GG and dont fuck with Fenrir

edit2: erm you know erm there is another tiny tiny change to a work you have done befor which erm i would very much like to have. Remember Menu overview where on the right side the map of calradia is? would you exchange the watermark with the Fenris head in a manner you did back then with the WPM emblem? PErhaps but you and Kass exchange the raw versions of your work so that can be done more easily.

For nostalgic and romantic reasons we will use the old Wolf Pact Mercenary banner one last time.

Thanks for the correction. So the usage of the merc banner is not a sign of dependency but sympathy to your clan, which is atm only represented within the faction holding Dhirirm and Grundwalder Castle and you own Sarren only by chance inbetween those 2 Merc faction fiefs. In the end it doesn't matter i guess, even as i see myself coming in this game with new faction and clan, people always see what history they have had with me as a person not with me as an ingame char. Thereby i wont have any illusions about friends or enemies.

Anyhow i wish us a good fight later on, lets spill some blood and crack some bones  :twisted:

In the past i for my part, didnt include many of my guys into longtime plans, as i knew of all the spying, where people had been send to other clans to join them and listen in onto private concversations and reporting back to their leaders(best example Templar/Fallen Member then founder of Risen) I didnt want to have that poisen in my own clan so noone ever got anything in these matters. as these things but needed to be discussed with other allied factions ....
Also in this strategus at the beginning and i will have that again, i started open relation management, meaning no back ally deals when it comes to treaties and longterm engagements so there is no "missunderstandings"  :rolleyes:
So that is my stance on secret plans.

Well i have no secret plans :D I was coming north to do a role play attack on Nords but there was a queue of people to get the fief back for balde, so i attacked the next best thing :D the Fenris village. There is no agenda here just a solo Role play faction role-playing raiders :D

a one man faction wouldnt have had the materials for the fights afterwards. He got help, whish is ok. Then again. I dont give a flying fuck anymore about who gets ganked or not in this game, there never ever had been "fair" circumstances for any fight when you narrow it compelttly down to even those dudes taking part in a fight.  Through backchannels peopel get stuff to keep running and show peopel the finger. Osiris made good fights, he got reinforced made more good fights, whatelse is there to say? That others who also work together try to regain their area? That if others would have choosen different targets they would have been wiped sooner? ...

Fleetfox is now our main recruiter. He will do first contact, questions for the possible recruits, describing what Fenris would expect of members and go together with the recruits through all the communication tools we use.

Every Fenris member can be part of recruiting new clan members, when you like people and got to know them and in genreal have a good feeling about them, give their names to FleetFox. This is formost about people you "like", which you can imagine to have around regularly, so do not pay attention to player skill but focus on personality when you give us those names. Playerskill can be trained, personality .. wtf we are not their fucking parents  :wink:

We have now 23 members, about 15 very actively playing. I see between 3 and 5 lads everyday on teamspeak regularly and on our Sudnay Chillout Evening upto 10. I will invest more time now to administrate our forum, so we can get some voting onto several topics done.

I understand Fenris(as i did with Wolves) always as an international clan. Where people from different backgrounds and different nationalities can exchange experiences and see the world through different eyes, out of different points of views.

So Fenris will not any longer be 'EU only', but NA, SA, Asia, Africa, downunder(thats australia right :) ? ) ... from everywhere you are welcome to join in, creating a parallel Fenris clan and representing your continent. With the NA community being the second bigggest in terms of playerbase with own servers, i first thought i would offer only new NA members to build up an autark clan, where the current Fenris is providing the Theme and communication platforms. That offer is not limited to NA only though. While we all can share the same cRPG clan banner and therefor the theme, i am not 100% sure this would be a good idear also within strategus. Therefor the interactions between EU/NA Strategus Fenris Faction would be very limited and restricted for at least strategus 5.0, till we may have seen how all this would play out.
That way diplomatic fall outs wont nessarily include all parts of Fenris. EU Fenris will stay neutral towards NA factions, NA Fenris will stay neutral towards EU factions. Helping each other with roster is ok, making trade together is ok, but no armies shall cross to invade EU or NA factions.

The rules of Fenris waht is posted here in the first post and on our forum will apply for all Fenris. So if  somewhere else on the world is soemone who feels the urge to hunt and devour, who wants to become part of Wolves of Fenris, contact me and we can discuss how to approach this together.

Besides all the before i would like to find is an older player, between say 30 and 40 who then would take charge of the NA Fenris part, same for any other fenris group from any other continent. He or she could act complettly autonomisly ... well within the parameters set through our rules, but not with always me looking over the shoulder, but doing their own thing, sure if those would have questions i would answer, but you would be the leaders of those packs of Fenris not me.

All this is not a new thought, i had tried it before in strat 3.0, but with me back then also the leader of the NA section then, well that didnt work out^^(with Wolves and Hyenas i had roughly 140 members which with my past approach leaning towards absolute authority and the high work load it all ended up in a mental cluster fuck). I like that Fallen has somehow managed to get this integrated into their clan, not always perfectly i imagine, but still the approach i always found to be nice, the more different people the better. Aslong we accept that to be a good thing.

Yesterday we have been again a nice groupe of 10+ players most also in teamspeak.
I do enjoy this i have to admit. What came up during the evening, that we need some sort of better coordiantion when we go on eu1.

It was said that high ath players(7+) should go with me on the flanks and the slower once stick with the main group. While that is one option i dont see it as "the only" option.

To formulate a set of simple round start commands for eu1

A) splitt groups
at round start, will now be the command to choose the groupe which fits more your playstyle and your athletics.

B) Fenris group up
If we want to stick together, no matter what, high athletics players then will need to wait from time to time so the others can keep up!

C) main group
we all stick with the main cluster and see how that would work out

D) free play
do what ever you want

I myself and others are mostly used to D) and that to play that way is quite enjoyable, i but want us also to train our team coordination with B), when we would need to act in friendly clan fights or tournaments or within strategus or within eu1 as a team.
A) & C) i mostly see as choices to win multiplier when we fail with other options too often.
It is not all about the multiplier but hell winning feels goood =)

Now how do we want to choose which we want to do,
I) everyone voices what he wants ... some people on ts tehn always will be ignored and it is quite confusing if we would do it like that for every round
II) me/kinngrimm making that call
*pfff* no deal, i wont be always around and you need to ahve a system you can apply which works also without me
c) Sunday Generalismo
We meet up on eu2, and before we goto eu1 we vote on who will be our General for that Sunday. Everyone can be it, everyone can step up and say he wants to be it, everyone can suggest someone, but that someone needs to agree that if he would be voted for he would do it for that Sunday. That way we may find out who has a good hand for leading our group and over time he could do that also within the week more often. Dont be shy lads, i want you to participate to your full potential so we all would benefit from your lead.

I will implent this into the first page so you also can look up easily these commands&concepts and others we may choose to use.

Within the past 2 months 3 weeks Fenris went from 1 to 29 players.

7 former Wolves still inside of the Wolves back then joined Fenris.
9 reactivated Wolves who left Wolves for various reasons joined Fenris.
13 recruits joined Fenris.

We have a regular Sunday Chillout Evening  :mrgreen: where sofar we had upto 10 lads on ts and upto 12 on the same server. We intend to take part in the upcoming strategus.
Within the week we have often upto 5 guys on ts in the evening, i myself due to various reasons havent had the past 3 days too much time though.

For our next Sunday we will try to implement a few new rules how we engage on the servers so we would be faster organized, those are to be seen in a former post here in this faction hall entry.

Over and after all, i would say Fenris is doing great  :D

I am currently rethinking my position on supporters and how to define them.

Normally i wouldnt want to have such a rank in our clan, as it is much more simple to just say, well clan member or not. Then there are but some individual figures, which i like and i would also like to fight with them instead against them, those but dont want to use a Clan Tag, as in their opinion it would ruin their name :) so to speak, f.e. "Attacking", a good and friendly player whom i like, whom i told we wouldnt accept people as members who are not using our clan tag. The word play "I am Attacking" wouldnt work with a Fenris tag ... you see the dillema.

Then we had the discussion about the how long we would give someone time to decide, if he would like to take up the Tag or not, therefor now recruiting time upto 4 weeks. Then again, why would they change their opinion after a month? Only because they played with us, well that maybe the naiv but hopefull way to put it, but my best guess after 1 month we would just need to kick them out again, which then has not resulted into anything besides 1-2 sad faces.

What i also dont want is a bunch of Banner leechers or dudes who not even join our ts once in addition of not using our tag. So people who we rather not care about , shouldnt be supporters either.

Perhaps you can help me define, how to proceed with this, a supporter, if and how you would have them interact with us as a bare minimum. F.e. i would myself want them still to read our faction hall thread and basicly agree to all our rules, as this is also about a minimum standard we want to set for us. The only difference to not being a full member but a supporter would be not using a clan Tag.

Please help me out lads how do you see this?

I agree that supporters must agree to all the clan requirements, but if they don't want the tag, well I guess they can come to an agreement with you Kinn. It obviously would be nice to have a uniform tag to mark us out as soldiers of a cause so to speak, but players we like and that play well together with us should have that freedom to choose imo (I expect most will take the tag as this will make them real Fenris members with the power of Fenrir at their backs ^^).

In other news, last Sunday there had been unusual high Wolf sightings, upto 18 Wolves of Fenris at the same time on one Server.
Over the whole evening we had counted 22 Fenris. 50% of the clan had been there.

i will edit now the paragraphs about supporters

"Supporters dont need our Tag. After the recruitment phase of one month and later on, only by choosing the Tag, you signal us, you would now be ready for a stronger commitment to the clan. Otherwise you just stay as a supporter.
Supporters still have to follow all other rules which full members have to, too and meet all requirements.
Supporters are not equal to the rank 0 within the clan ladder but to the rank 3, that way they can freely use our Armory in any way. Full Members with Tag are by default Rank 5 within the cRPG Clan"

On a similar topic, as Prefix we wont allow other clan tags, but if you f.e. want to show your former clan respect you can do it for your main char with a Suffix like
"Fenris_Yourname_of_FormerClanName" or just for alt chars
"Yourname_of_FormerClanName"

what we dont want is something like
"FormerClanName_Yourname"
Again this shall not be out of disrespect for your former clan, but we want to clearly distance Fenris from any other clan and for members it has to be with Fenris Tag, and for supporters it has to be without a Tag from a former Clan as Prefix.

besides the "Wolf on the Throne" song i liked all of them. The way these voices work i am not allways a fan of. I had a friend singing in a metal band, while he did a great job, i am more in for the instruments. Guitar, e-guitar, bass, drums love all that in hard rock and heavy metal, ACDC singing is also good or vanhalen ... but these really deep voiced "screaming" nope  :rolleyes: not my cup of tea

while we stopped approaching players actively, players are approaching us. We will not take in everyone, we will make exceptions in some cases where we see it fit. We will have discussions about applicants within the clan before we would accept new players.

hi Miles :)

yes i retired. The question to the devs if cRPG/Strat would be further developed and fitted to M&B2 was not answered by them and hinted by others they would not do so as they would create a competitor to their own upcoming game. From waht i have seen now from the dev blog vids of that upcoming game, i estimate at least 1 year more development time. With Strategus not being balanced nore proper admin support, i havent had fun with strategus anymore and grinding cRPG to lvl 37 was at some point just mute.

I now play a few other games(SotS, Rise of Venize, Guild Renaissance, Ghost Recon, Godus, Banner Saga, Evolution RTS, ...) and get traction within Fenris and other cRPG clans for Star Citizen. All in all atm i got 15 former(or still) cRPG players signing up for Star Citizen. If you and others are intrested, you can write me pm on the crpg website which i still ocationally check.

Still didnt get over it old man? I thought you finally became clever enough to fix your life, but you just continued playing other games then cRPG. Btw. I stopped playing this game aswell. Its summer time and there is alot more to enjoy then video games  :wink:

Are you guys playing ArcheAge? I've seen a bunch of "Wolves of Fenris" running about on Shatigon. You're the only "Wolves of Wolf" that I know of.

"TheGrimm" - Member of the Wolves of Fenris on Archeage, just ran around me a bit - Seems like too much of a coincidence to me!

I'm sorry but i'm leaving the clan. Not because i'm nearly the only member ingame, or beacuse i will join another clan (things that are not so relevant to me, when there are still few nice people who play with me sometimes, like it still happens almost everyday).
No. It's just that i had the ""occasion"" to meet an "old member" of Fenris, trident. I'm sorry but i will not continue to share the same banner of a such person.
It was nice staying with you and sure i wouldn't never have imagined this end.

Hi Tennenoth, that was not me but propably some other clan member. I am currently preparing a non-profit organization as base for the Wolves. Through that my i hope is to get a more stable communication base in the future. and a Wolves of Fenris discord channel (https://discord.gg/YduKBTt),
i also partly updated this faction hall thread, but will possibly not do so anymore in the future.
I leave the thread open nevertheless as i will come by from time to time and see if one you old wolves has howled for old times sake.

I stopped at around 180h for now and am waiting for things like the reworked character system, a clan/banner managment of sorts and a few other things to emerge before i would put more time in it. As always, patience is a virtue. I like the combat system they came up with quite a lot and am keen on witnessing how that may evolve further.
