Title: Mallet or GMaul?

I ve been told that Great Maul is useless anymore but I want to make a Mauler for my Siegemy old friend GO banner leeching character, I think I can find +3s of both weapons , so should I go for Mallet or Great Maul ? I think there is not much difference between them.

Mallet serves pretty well as a crushthrough weapon. It certainly doesn't happen as often as with Great Maul, but the faster side-swings more than make up for it in damage and knockdown potential. It's especially effective with 7+ Athletics, though should fair equally well with a more Strength oriented approach. Definitely in my top 5 favorite 2h weapons; along with the Long Maul, it's the reason why I'm an 18 STR build instead of a 15 STR build with riding.

Don't make the game any worse than it already is. Leave crush through weapons out of crpg... They are only tolerable in strat for tryharding.

My opinion:
Great Maul for 21/18 build.
Mallet for 24/15, 27/12 and 18/21
Maul for 30/9, upwards and 15/24

You will almost never crush when you don't hold the attack, but you're almost certain to crush if you hold it for half a second or so, depending on the weight of your opponent mostly. Don't expect to crush an opponent's great maul for example.

Mallet anytime for me, with a bardiche as secondary(cheap 2h one)

Then I decided. I m gonna use Mallet with a 24-15 build but what about a sidearm? what will I use if I run into a 9-30 ninja :(

Your mallet , I was 42/3 and used a great maul and still managed to not get spammed. Just keep blocking and rightswing ONLY rightswing.
