Oh wow this already came out on PC
available on steam for £15 and TPB for 1 souls.
only played like an hour but my very early impressions are extremely high, tho I may end up hating it later.
its maps/quests/open world kind of feel like far cry 2, the character loss/rpg reminds me of xcom, parts of combat remind me of darksouls but its no way as good, combat does seem a bit bland so far. luckily it seems to have some interesting survival/rpg/stratergy aspects to it.

Played it a bit.. it's awfully repetitive, combat is boring and logging in after a day to find your morale dropped from 100% to 10%, some of your guys died and other are missing is not really fun.

Wait... Is that morale thing a bug or a feature?
If it's a feature, what do they call it? Dynamic save games?
That sounds terribly annoying and probably has a ton of frustration potential. Like a freaking Tamagotchi, you have to play it daily or you will get fucked? Stupid...

It's a feature, the game "progresses even when you don't play". If you're lucky you'll just find constructions done and weapons repaired, else you'll have to spend quite a bit of time collecting resources, rescuing people and clearing out zombies to fix the mess.

Enjoyed the game alot. Put alot of hours into it for that cheap price. Looking forward to their next game!

I really liked it on the Xbox 360. it does have problems (as cmp stated), but I still really enjoyed playing it.
-
yeah the whole progression whilst offline is an interestering idea but don't think it translates well at all in a single player game.
I mean if all my guys are injured, I kind of need to stop playing the game and wait for them to heal. which is very stupid. what it needs is a function similar to xcom where you can speed up time, obviously things are still consumed during that time but things don't happen off your watch.
game hasn't got too repetitive to me yet. but surely you must understand (cmp and whoever) that the less scripted/linear a game is the more repetitive it must be. you can't make a sandbox with lots of unique content unless you have a billion developers like rockstar, only they can choose quality AND quantity.

I know, and that's why sandbox games rarely work.

This game kind of tries to be a story/quest game ASWELL as a sandbox/survival sim, and that kind of results in it being not brilliant at either.
However they have already developed a DLC/expac called "breakdown" which is basically a sandbox mode, with more difficulty etc. and sounds alot like how I wished the game was in the first place.
should be out soon. info (http://forums.undeadlabs.com/showthread.php?37165-Can-t-Be-a-Little-Bit-Pregnant-amp-the-Breakdown-Trailer-Can-t-Be-a-Little-Bit-Leaked)
