Just curious what kind of equip do you want to see in strat siege\battle
Right now we(DRZ) usually have:
Tribal Warrior Outfit
Druzhina Mail Shirt
Heavy Kuyak
Milanese Plate
Pilgrim Hood
Litchina Helm
Sallet with Visor and Coif
Rus Cavalry Bootss
Rus Splinted Greaves
Cased Greaves
Mail Mittens
Heavy Gauntlets
Great Lance
Lance
Long Spear
Awlpike
Bec de Corbin
Great Long Bardiche
Morningstar
Longsword
Bar Mace
Great Maul
Sword of War
Broad Short Sword
Military Hammer
Arabian Cavalry Sword
Elite Scimitar
Steel Pick
Warhammer
Horseman's Heater Shield
Knightly Kite Shield
Horn Bow
Long Bow
Bodkin Arrows
Arbalest
Already convinced Vovka to replace Broad short sword with hammer for ranged players due to inefficiency of sword against plate. Heard some ppl want Russcale back. Discuss.
Also I want to curse ppl who don't buy light ranged armor(9-10kilos) & light gloves.
Leaders who buy anything exept arbalests for xbowmen should give up Strat immediately.

If you're going to do field battles with that gear, you have one item noticeably missing
-
PIKE
missed that, I copypasted our siege army
-
What about spathovaklion as a faster blunt alternative for military hammer
and military pick as the longer pierce alternative for steel pick
-
If its not about the money, ever thought about getting the Flamberge for field battles? Playing as a 2h you often are short on reach, the longer weapons are rather low damage so I usually ended up using Morningstars or Great Mauls. These weapons are awesome but in an even field battle with a lot of long polearms waving around everywhere, you really got to play smart to be effective. The Flamberge however allows you to threaten such a large radius, that having 10 people running around with them will seriously fuck shit up. 49 cut does the trick against any armour and the weapon isn't even unbalanced and fairly easy to use, even up close.
Also, when it comes to plate, you should really switch to the Gothic Plate with Bevor. Milanese Plate + Heavy Gauntlets gives you 79 body armour, but the Sallet with Visor and Coif only gives 63 head armour. Which means that the 79 body armour is a complete waste when a few people figure out they got to hit your head. I always pike at faces and playing as a 1h I always steel pick at people's heads because they die so much quicker. When you take the Gothic Plate with Bevor you get 76 body armour and 76 head armour, which means that your head protection is in much better proportion to your body protection, which I think will increase overall survivability.
Also, you lack hoplite weapons. Ashwood pike is the cream of the crop in that regard.
-
More Great Mauls
-
Greataxes. So much cut they basically are pierce and as good as morning stars while able to be used on horseback. Far better than any other weapon in lower armor battles(60- with gloves)
Swisshalberd/englishbill. Longest 2/d polearms that can put a pounding on anybody(halberd does far better overhead than the awlpike while having an awsome stab to boot).
Bamboo spears. Basically only can be used as anti cav for 1h/1slot shielders for anti cav OR twohanders(cheap and longer then ash wood).
-
lower armor battles(60- with gloves)
I'm afraid these do not exist in EU

You are going to give up your only good 1h for a hammer? Disgusting. BSS is an amazing sword. Also, get LEE or SS or some other not shitty 1h sword. Geeze.
-
I would trade Elite scimitar for NCS as gold is no issue it is longer 1 higher cut and has stab and looks better :D (my mail clad troops will look sexier than yours anyway :P at least when attacking in my defensive troops i do have full lordly milanese etc :()

Yesterday's first battle were the wolves attacked was considerably low armor.
I prefer to equip my field armies with about 300 great axes. We caught FCC in heavy yawks(I don't think +3) and were 2-3 hitting them along with them never getting to keep their shields allowing ranged to rip them new assholes.
Between greataxes and English bills there are no other more underestimated weapons.

Smoke Bombs = XP bombs.

English bills are amazing , not sure why more people dont use them. But long axes better than great long axes - the very slightly less damage more than made up for with the vastly higher speed.
Rondel daggers - very underestimated, just ask longbow or rohy.
-
I started giving out long iron maces for a couple of fights and people seem to enjoy them. Think of them as morningstars with knock down and a stab annimation. They only suffer against shields
-
8-) torch, donkey ,Bride Dress,Archon's Armor.
-
Rondel daggers - very underestimated
Indeed Rondel daggers would be good choice atleast for sieges. Better than most of the other 1h weapons because it is tiny weapon (doesn´t glance on teammates) and has insane damage output (34pierce on 113 speed stab).

Spathovaklion or Iberian Mace for shielders, I'd say. I hate Military Hammer myself and Warhammer has a useless thrust that can be a pain, and the reach is quite low. A mace in between those two could be nice for some players, I guess.
Also, if you remove the BSS, you should think about getting some other thrust-orianted 1h, preferably the Side Sword. The 1h thrust is really strong nowadays and such a weapon can be useful. I went 32/3 in a strategus siege as dismounted 1h cav with a BSS against a bunch of plate guys. The damage of it, combined with the protection of a shield and the great speed makes it a very dangerous tool.

heavy round shield / board shield best shield for siege; catches most arrows
also, spathovaklion is much better than the military hammer, i am literally clueless why all the factions insist on taking that weapon it's awful
even the iberian mace is better than the military hammer
also, don't remove the broad short sword, it's great for sieges, you can take a siege ladder, 1 slot shield and broad short sword, which is awesome :)
Horseman's Heater Shield
Knightly Kite Shield - these two shields are not very wide, they get shot around by arrows a lot, if you want a light shield the "elite cavalry shield" catches a lot more arrows
other than that i think DRZ has a great gear setup; the 2nd best equipment selection in strat after shu han :D :D
-
strat now is like Preupkeep C-rpg
-
military hammer is horrible id take warhammer over it anyday :D iberian also amazing

Battle forks have been getting a very positive reception since we've been including them in armies. NA armies are often lacking in a non-sheathable mid-length polearm like long awlpikes, spetums, et cetera which fill a very good niche. It's often difficult to perform effective anti-cavalry duties with longspears and pikes because they're very visible and no cav players worth their salt will willingly run into them, but you can hide the shorter polearms better and get more stabs in to de-horse the guy after you rear him. I have a high opinion of bar maces for two-handed weapons, as well as great axes like jack said.
Lately in NA it has been very unwise to not equip armies with long mauls as well, they are highly effective team-fight weapons. Dudes get distracted and you can drop a nasty overhead on them for an almost guaranteed crush-through or knockdown. Its also hilarious watching two longmauls attempt to overhead one another. The damn thing can crush through near anything except for other longmauls or greatmauls.

id love to have war spears but i only own one village so have to buy +3 long spears from nearby and upgrade my crap to +0 :(
