Right now polearms and 1h/no shield have the longest nudge stun.
I propose shield nudge be a bit more effective. Hitting block+nudge should still effective block attacks in front of you, kind of like a chamber.
Keep in mind this can only be done every 6 seconds or so. It just seems odd to hold block, nudge, and then have a strike go through your shield.
Just a suggestion.

You have a weapon to attack with, why do you want to attack with something designed to block? Nudge is ok as it's now imho, changing shiet in crpg is dangerous as things may get broken.

Wait, are you asking why people nudge? I'm confused by this question.

Shielders have the ability to nudge in all 3 stances. Attacking, defending, and neutral.
I think the are fine for the most part. The only thing that does bother me is the fact that you cannot nudge right after successful block, which can make it hard to use in groups.

I'm saying that the nudge may have neutral effect on 1vs1 fighting but it doesn't make it useless in crowd fights where you can open the block of the enemy with it. Shieldbash is similar to other neutral nudges and is fine. Only very powerful nudge is 1h no shield nudge that in most cases grants you free hit.
More mechanics, less free hits is ok.
I answered your post in the way that I did because I thought you wanted to make more nudges give free hits for succesful nudge.

Oh I see. No, I was suggesting block-nudge for shield keeps you blocking. So if an enemy is swinging at you, and you block-shield-nudge, you block the hit and nudge him instead of getting hit yourself like you do now.

the nudge when you aren't attacking or blocking with your shield is the best one in the game!. It's a fast nudge that covers your sword a little and you can attack right after it. SHIELD OP

This is simply wrong for authentic shields - and an apparently. still widely missunderstood fact. Shields have basically always been designed for agressive use, as part of a weapon-set - you should lookup some material in the net, its very interresting. You could aswell implement arrowreflecting greatswords, since they where certainly tried to be used defensively like that in some cases - always there had to be a balance between defensive and agressive abilities obviously.
Its also easily comprehensible, that there would be no reason to not use a shield as a weapon, and if you fight for your life , you would certainly try to exploit any given option you got...
Thus i would not mind if the trend would go that way, opposed to the paradigmatic, usual unrealistic 270°+ forcefield item implementation, that most games and movies showcase and imply. I think it would as well greatly benefit the gameplay, if shields would trade some defense for aggression in terms of active applications to use.

I don't play shielder anymore but I think there is some merit to OP.
In my humblest of opinions, The window when u can be hit with weapon swings when you do a block-nudge is much to big. I remember when I played shielder I kept having to remind myself to stop going for nudges, because 9 times out of 10 it would result into me being hit with a swing before the nudge hits the person. Only time I really went for a block nudge was when the enemy had his back turned and was fighting someone else, then I'd push/stun him into the person he was fighting. The most annoying part is (for me at least), visually, your shield is still up in the block position but it doesn't block attacks just before the nudge goes off.
Anyways I don't play shielder currently so w/e

People are already starting to abuse the vulnerability window during the shield shove (block+nudge) animation. Gallo did this to me last night:
-Stands on a ledge, just begging to be shoved to his death
-Has a thrust chambered
-I hold down block and nudge to shove him, he releases his thrust, it goes right through my shield and I die
Shield shove is a powerful mechanic, so I understand why there should be a significant window AFTER the nudge when you are vulnerable to attack. What I don't understand is the long window DURING the animation where you are vulnerable. You should be punished for MISSING the nudge, not attempting it.
