Title: SUPER FUNTIME EXP EXTRAVAGANZA BONANZA NOMINATIONS THREAD

We should be able to host another plate battle for exp and fun in a few days.  However, we have to decide on the next weapon.

Rules for nomination:
1. No ranged.  We already did arbs, but if we did bows or throwing, those without power draw or power throw would not be able to equip the weapons.
2. 15 Str maximum requirement.  To maximize compatibility with most builds.
3. Try to minimize proficiency advantage.  Basically if we chose some 2h sword, it would just be 2handers slaughtering all the other classes.  1h/2h weapons are a good choice.  Pole arms get screwed a little bit, but there are also 2h swords with pole mode.
4.  Has to be effective enough to not glance consistently.  Our goal is to kill almost all the tickets before time runs out, in order to maximize exp.  So blunt and pierce weapons or high cut are preferable.  At some point I'll have enough -2 armors and we can work down to lower end weapons.

What would you guys like to see next?

A few ideas I've had so far.

Hammer.  Hilariously short, knockdown.  Would probably have to wait for -2 armor.

Cudgels.  Similar to hammer but also 1h/2h.

Pikes.  Phalanx battle.  Would be madness.

Military sickle.  Good damage, 1h/2h.

Great Sword.  2h/pole.  Good stab damage in pole arm mode.

Honestly I wish there were more weapons that you couldn't block with.  Most of the daggers simply don't do enough to get kills quickly enough, rondel excluded.

It will just deteriorate into dehorsed 2h heroes running buck wild.

Another thought would be to purposely use illegal weapons on horseback.

I was thinking pikes would be a good choice due to the pierce damage, and the fact that having proficiency in polearms isn't really that important (compared to using a 1h or 2h w/o proficiency it's very noticeable). 

If it was possible for us to all avoid being perma-banned, it would also be fun to have everyone riding a donkey with a pike.

For pikes to be relevant they need something to keep one block direction from being total invincibility.

 :lol: Put down the wooden boards , only fight on the second floor.

For pikes to be relevant they need something to keep one block direction from being total invincibility.

Angles.  I would lay down a bunch of siege ladders to determine the playable area.  You would be allowed to go around the enemy.  We aren't talking strictly line battles here, that was more of a mechanic to make sure arbalasts were getting kills and people weren't hiding in trees all day pretending to be Navy Seal snipers.

Full Plate Flameberg battles except it is not team 1 vs team 2, but team 1 vs team 1 and team 2 vs team 2.

The Battle of Team-Kills and Butt-Hurt is the most efficient way to get xp.

We'll have Warhammers for 1h, Bar Mace for 2h, and Long Hafted Spiked Mace for Pole.

Someone will DJ in TeamSpeak to play Chumbawamba's "Tubthumping" on repeat for the entirety of the battle as everyone gets knocked down,



but they get up again.

How about this... but NO COMBAT!

Get any pole arm, and everyone just pushes and kicks each other off the ledge!

It'll be like royal rumble. That can get XP no? No one really has an advantage there.. I guess the only one would be IF.

Well you did an xbow line battle, but what about a shotgun runner one? I recently retired mine and i had alot of fun with it. Allow people to run into eachother and shooting them in the ace from point blank. No fisting, kicjing and nudging ofcourse. Not sure if that would be easy to organize.

I dunno if you guys do intend to bring sites and materials but some catapults off in the background shelling the battlefield would make for some extra fun.

I don't know if it is possible, but a team based game of kill the carrier would be interesting. Have the carrier hold a torch and permanently up block while the other team tries to take it from them. Team holding the torch at the end if the game wins. Winning team is guaranteed a slot in the next xp battle or something like that for incentive.

This sounds like a really fun idea, although the agi builds will have a nice advantage.
