Title: BATTLE FOR FRIENDSHIP AND EXP: ARBALEST LINE BATTLE (ALL CAPS)

The magnanimous TEAM 1 has attacked despicable TEAM 2 in the field, in what is to be a truly glorious battle.  Both teams are armed with plate armors, arbalests, steel bolts and smoke bombs.

In order to gain entry to this truly amazing battle, you meet a few requirements:
1.  Have 15 strength and show your stats in the application.  In order to wear all the armor and use an arbalest, you need 15 strength.  If you don't wear the armor or use the weapons, you will be literally taking experience out of the mouths of all of our children's' mouths.
2.  You must be willing to follow the rules. The rules I have made are in place in order to make sure the battle finishes in a decent amount of time.
3.  You must apply to both sides.  This is important, because we want to have a good time and play with different groups of people which we don't normally get to during "normal" Strategus.
4.  In your application, please put "I have read the rules and I want to take part in this battle.  I am agreeing to get kicked if I fail to follow the rules at anytime and risk being banned from future events."  There will be admins present and ready to enforce the rules.

THE RULES:
1.  Bring a full load out every life.  There is exactly enough gear for everyone to carry a full set of armor, an arbalest, two stacks of steel bolts and a smoke bomb.  Maximize the exp that everyone gets by bringing a full set of gear every life.  There is no need to recycle gear.  I doubt anyone will survive past firing 25 bolts.
2.  No fighting before the forward spawns are set up and no attacking the forward spawns.  The forward spawns are essential so we may finish the battle in a decent amount of time.  Everyone should set their spawn to their team's forward spawn in order to not draw out the battle.
3.  You must line up, and do it tightly before firing.  When players in the line die, you must file to one side and keep it tight before taking your next shot.  Follow this diagram below roughly.  This means no "ramboing."
4.  Leave your ego at the door.  Most of us aren't speced for crossbows.  A few of the participants will be.  It doesn't matter.  We're all here to get good exp and have fun.
5.  No idling or AFKing.  Be active the whole time.

Gimmick =/= theme.

Please stop wasting troops and money on these lame gimmicks and start putting together fun themes instead.

For example: 200 shiny troops vs. 1000 peasants, or fencers vs. brawlers, or one nation vs. another, etc.

If I wanted line battles I'd play M&M.

Thats what i have been telling him.  Would be much more willing to give troops to support actual theme battles.

However, as a whole we can always stop the flow of troops till we got a battle we all voted on.

But in all seriousness I do enjoy the fact that there have been a couple strat battles that are more focused on fun than conquest.

Lol bunch of angry nerds. All I did was start punching people towards the end. Other than that I was part of all of the line. Pinecone was the only one that was formally handled by an admin by being kicked or warned in the dreaded pink text. I was never once warned by pink text or being kicked. But if you want to get all butthurt about the rules, then you must as well ban more then half of the server from your event,  because I cant even count on my fingers and toes how many people were doing the same as me at the end, or not even halfway into the thing people were breaking formation, firing out of turn, and yolo'ing off by themselves not being part of the line, and that was continued to the very end of the battle. But thats fine. Go ahead and be Fun Police.

that battle was freaking funny!

just one thing for future events: ingame timers are WAY off for many people, so it just does not work to say "fire at :10 , :30, :50" or something like that.

Plus quite a few people (incl. me) can not be in TS for various reasons.

So if some pinky just would give the "HOLD" and "FIRE" commands in chat it would be easier and even more fun :)

P.S.: lol, damnit, was too late for that SKoT hugging screenshot ;-)
