when you are in game and black screen appears, press alt+enter it will run it in windows mode but it is the only working way for me
-
Navigate to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\MountBlade Warband\Modules\cRPG\WSE
Check wse_log.txt for errors. Might be helpful.

I just checked on mine, nothing related to that problem we can only see screen in windows mode

Maybe it's your resolution?

Ive got the same problem, tried setting my resolution to a lower setting and it just goes to a black screen now. Tried modifying the.ini file, didn't work. Removed the cRPG module folder and repaired. Didn't work. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling Warband and then running the cRPG.exe again with repair option, still black screen. launch with WSE1 and it shows to use desktop resolution. Run Native and it shows to use desktop resolution. However WSE2 launches automatically and there is no configuration option available prior to launching to the black screen. Would appreciate knowing what file did not get removed when Warband was completely uninstalled.

The ini file in your documents, yeah? Not the one in steamapps.
You should be able to edit -
iFullscreenDisplayDepth=0
iFullscreenDisplayHeight=0
iFullscreenDisplayRefreshRate=0
iFullscreenDisplayWidth=0
With your desired settings eg
iFullscreenDisplayDepth=32
iFullscreenDisplayHeight=1080
iFullscreenDisplayRefreshRate=60
iFullscreenDisplayWidth=1920

I was having this issue as well after switching from NVIDIA to AMD graphics card, and RadeonPro turned out to be the culprit. The moment I shut down RadeonPro and launched cRPG with WSE2, it got fixed. I hope this helps.
Edit: Actually, the problem is running RadeonPro and FRAPS at the same time. Since I don't record a lot of videos, I use Afterburner for fps meter instead and RadeonPro isn't an issue anymore.
Edit2: I was using RadeonPro basically for the fps limiter, but I found out that Afterburner can do that too (which I use for fan control as well), so I uninstalled RadeonPro, and all games run perfect along with FRAPS and fps limited by Afterburner. I was getting stuttering and other weird stuff with RadeonPro, so better not use it.
Edit3: I've just found out that I get black screen when launching cRPG with WSE2 if I also have FRAPS and Afterburner+OSD running. Maybe it was this combination and RadeonPro had nothing to do with it.
