I want to jab people with my wakazashi. It looks cool next to my katana sheath, but it would also be cool to have a reason to use it. I think it could similarly be cool if like, for example, I'm using a bow and shooting at someone, but I want to jab them with a dagger because they got too close. It'd give people a reason to carry little weapons along with their main weapon. You wouldn't be able to use the weapon to do anything else without switching to it and it'd be on the same timer as nudge.
Alternatively, it could still be fun if you could only make use of it if you had a free hand. Like if you were using another one handed weapon or a two handed weapon that could be used with one hand. e.g. a katana

No not good. you can always change your weapon und you already have the dagger quickdraw.
hitting with a sheated weapon doesn't make any sense. your opponent will never know what he is going to deal with.

you know, this actually sounds cool. once upon one minute, you can do a swift low damage dagger slash or stab.
damage would be equal to 60% of damage for the specified weapon damage.
this would make nudges finally useful.

Having an unblockable short range attack that does real damage would probably not be for the best, unless you want to see absolutely everybody roll 15/27 builds and never hit their 'W' key.

Paradise!

thats why there should be a delay! like when you have it up and ready, you can perform one slash. when you do this, you must wait for nudge to recharge. and once 60 seconds pass and you didnt nudge right before delay is gone, you can use this again.
in essence, this is practically a skill with cooldown.
also, i would like to see a backstab kill, something like in two worlds 2.
note: this should be only usable by daggers and knives, not short sword.

No, for obvious reasons. You cannot make any attack that can do damage that easy to preform and unavoidable. It would cause an obscene amount of people going agility builds. The idea would make EVERYONE have a secondary as a dagger and just create a whole mess of problems with every class.
Also, there is a way to quickly switch to a dagger secondary that allows for an almost instant attack. (But it is blockable) Press 'N'
Not needed and game breaking.

once upon one minute
Why ?
If the action is too strong if spammed, it shouldn't be present in the game at all.

everything is too strong if spammed.

Why are people even trying to explain why this is a bad idea? Beyond retard call of duty bs.
There is a thousand reasons to equip a dagger but nudge being underpowered aint one...

daggers arent really useful for anything else than agi builds, close quarter combat [and even then will a 2h junkie with nocliping weapon just beat the crap out of you]
and...
wait no, thats all of them.

Nudges are useful. Good if your guys are ganking one sad dude, pushing guys away if you are getting ganked. Pushing guys of walls/ladders/etc. They are pretty good.

Thank you like a lot, was looking for the quickdraw key for ages.

Let me clarify. I didn't really mean to suggest an unblockable attack that dealt damage. I meant a blockable attack that did damage, but was simple to execute instead of switching completely to another weapon. This would only be possible with weapons where it was viable to make use of an offhand weapon such as when you're using a weapon which can be wielded one handed while having another, small, one handed weapon sheathed (e.g. katana/wakazashi combination). I suggested the nudge button because I think it's detrimental to have too many buttons with different functions.
The point is that you just want to use your short weapon for a quick strike instead of making it your primary weapon. You could even give it some kind of damage penalty if you thought it was too significant to give the full amount for an offhand attack.
