Title: Loosen the Diplomacy Forum Rules
Post by: GOBBLINKINGREATLEADER on September 25, 2013, 10:46:46 pm
Just do it. Every fucking person wants you to, you idiots. There are like 3 people in this game that would actually maybe give you the roleplay that forum was designed for, maybe you should stop gaying all over every post people make trying to have fucking fun you shitidiots.

The community eats it up, upvotes it, and you fucking sperg nincompoops warn and mute people for it.

I was given a warning for telling people to love each other; either crpg is bottomless pit where love is nonexistent, or there is no hope for it existing in these forums

All of the stupid things ive heard of people getting trouble for in that subforum has caused me to entirely avoid posting in it; it really does kinda kill it. Why would someone want to post in a forum where half of the posters get in trouble for completely innocuous posts?

Its the grey area we are in that bothers me. It should be completely RP based or not required at all, trying to do this in-between thing is confusing and failing.

If they want total RP they should make a roleplaying forum... instead of making a forum about diplomacy require RP

As one of the few people who actually tries to RP in the diplomacy section, I think a loosening of the rules is probably for the best. Those of us who do the RP posts mostly do it for our own enjoyment anyway so having other people NOT RP isnt going to really effect us.

Your post has value.

But does continually and widely disrecpecting a rule (diplomacy = strat roleplay) give credits to those who ignore the law ?

Still agree there should be change : either stricter rules (deleting HRP messages/topics, restricting access) or loosen it up (anyone can talk about Strat diplomacy any way they want to).

I posted two words on a diplomacy forum and was like 80 percent warned meanwhile other people posted essays bitching back and forth to eachother and they got no penalty. I DEMAND JUSTICE.

Seriuslly. These warnings given out for posting slightly wrong stuff in the D section are silly. It almost feels like you made those rules so retarded so the forumadmins would acctually have something to do.
Therefore, we will announce some rules that you should read closely before posting:
- no one liners - if you have something to say, put some effort in it. Who can really say how much effort I put into something?
- complete sentences, proper grammar - as above, put some effort in it. Are you holding the english dictionary in your hands or what? Mybe I speak an entirely different language and worked all night on making a couple of sentences in english and still got a warning?
- stay on topic Depends who you ask? How does some random admin who lacks any background of 2 factions history, just jump into their discussions and start throwing out warnings for stuff he knows nothing about?
- no links to outside pictures, unless they really fit (ok: strategus map screenshot, not ok: link to 4chan images) Again. Depends who you ask. Who is the judge of what fits and what doesnt?
- same for youtube videos - unless you've done one yourself, it's most likely inappropiate. This one is just sad. Sometimes some vids really do fit
- refrain from using "modern talk" - comparing a battle with the invasion of the iraq doesn't really help setting the mood Alright, I get this one
- think of it as people with messages that are getting sent to all of the lords. I...I got nothing
- keep it in the timespan - so no talk about last strategus rounds, if possible Also I think this one is fair.

I mean, I get what you tried to do here and kudos for trying, but nobody is digging this.  If anything most people just stay clear of that part of the forum entirely.

now I can concentrate all my posting as a homosexual/Paraphilic medieval Dutchman and no one can call me gay.

Oh but they can! They'll just mean "happy" though.
