Daggers are ok IMO (fun to kill peasants with)
The problem I see is using Daggers with high Ath and a shield. Solution: Remove athshielddagger users.

some people just cant understand the importance of keeping someone wielding a short weapon at distance.
srsly people, get some skills and learn to block stabs, for this is all they can throw at you.

daggers are fine its just rondel dagger has some crazy damage with agi speed bonus and looms (same as steel pick just reaaaaly fast)

if someone has 13 ath, they have no chance of doing any damage at all with slash of their dagger.

Play it before saying stuff like that. 13 ath and a rondel still yields great damage (with swings as well as stab) if you use the speed to your advantage. I don't mind that, builds with 11 shield and athletics are broken though. Making the rondel dagger unusable with a shield and maybe give it 1-2 pierce on side swings would make it better. I've experienced quite a lot with these rondel builds lately, and trust me, 11 shield and 11 ath with a rondel dagger is ridiculously powerful for what you pay.

They do, because rondel dagger also has pierce damage on swings, unlike the other daggers (I think it dealt over 30 pierce damage on swings, 34 in thrust, if it's a +3 dagger).
Still nearly all rondel dagger guys only use the stab. You guys just need to do sideswings like always, changing weaponmode on rondel to swing takes some time in which they can't chamber.
Make rondel unusable with shield, it's ridiculous anyway. Out of pride I refuse to use daggers with shields...

I think the logic was to symbolize how daggers/small stabbing weapons were used to kill tincans, bypassing the armour to get in the chinks and openings. The ridiculous pierce damage (compared to much bigger and expensive weapons) is, I'm guessing, supposed to be an abstraction of this.

On the other hand, who am I to say ppl how to play this game... Ofc it doesn't stop me from hating all HA, HX, dagger users, hoplites, pikers, heavy cav, plated shielder, et cetera :P


Playing agi shielder with dagger can be funny for a shielder I suppose, but it's shitty for everyone else, so nah, I won't use it :P

And here I thought that the pierce damage represented the dagger being held the other way around (point downwards, on the right here: http://www.myarmoury.com/view.html?features/pic_spot_rondel10.jpg) which makes it extremely short but with pierce damage, that being the reason why stabbing is not possible in secondary mode.
