The Great Long Bardiche took yet another nerf in 0.223, down to 87 speed (after losing 1 dmg in 0.221). Why did the devs feel the need to nerf this one and leave its "regular" cousin the Long Bardiche alone? Compared to the "non-Great" version, the GLB:
Costs twice as much
Is unbalanced
Has -2 speed
What do you get for those huge penalties above? +1 damage and +15 cm length. The GLB was always a niche weapon; its length is just as much of a hindrance as a boon, since it's always bouncing/getting stuck on walls/killing teammates in your backswing.
Can I have the two heirlooms on my GLB back so I can put them on a regular Long Bardiche?
P.S.-The Great Long Axe got hit even harder, -2 speed. This axe was OP compared to 2H equivalents, so the nerf was somewhat justified. The regular Long Bardiche effectively makes the GLA obsolete as well, though.
P.P.S.-I won't even go into how awful the 2H Great Bardiche is compared to the Long Bardiche. (No thrust, unbalanced, shorter, -1 dmg)

Give it back the speed point it lost and make it take three slots.
-
GLB And Flamberge were underused before version 0.220, yet the devs decided to nerf them below the GLA's stats.
Whoever made that up is an idiot.

there is no solution for this, sorry

Sure, you can even make it unsheathable (although it does look cool on your back). Just make it 88 speed, 47 dmg like it used to be.
The Flamberge and GLB should be impractical (i.e. slow, expensive, awful for dueling, take up all your slots), but deliver absolutely fearsome damage in a wide swath.
I just hate how they did the heirloom respec, then immediately continued nerfing weapons. I can only assume the regular Long Bardiche is now due for a nerf, since it makes both the GLA and GLB obsolete.

yup... nerfing weapons AFTER heirloom respec is kinda illogical... same thing happened to my horse (but that's another subject)

let me respec to the long war axe please

GLB wasn't exactly niche. It certainly wasn't overused, but at least on EU siege servers, you could see them regularly, even mighty ones...
They were pretty good weapons for strength builds. I once had a 50:13 KD with one, and I can't go above a 2:1 KD very often with other weapons.

I consider the Great Long Axe, Long Hafted Blade, and Bec de Corbin to be the most-used polearms (Long Hafted Spiked Mace used to be in that group before its epic nerf). The Poleaxes and Bardiches are probably half as popular as that first group, although the Poleaxe has been climbing in popularity lately (probably all the former German Greatsword users looking for the next OP thrust weapon).
Anyway, this thread is about the internal balance between the Long Bardiche, Great Long Bardiche, and (to a lesser extent) the Great Long Axe. I contend that the GLB is slightly under-powered right now (needs+1 speed +1 dmg back), the GLA is probably fine, and the Long Bardiche is over-powered (needs to be unbalanced).
