Title: Euro Truck Simulator 2
Post by: Fredom on September 12, 2013, 10:17:31 pm
Hi mates. I bought ETS 2 and think it is a good, relaxing and 'realistic' game. Maybe you think the same, can give suggestions or recommend special mods? I would be interested in hearing them. Also feel free to ask questions or tell me/us your mind about this game. Greetings ;)

I dont get it, whats so interesting about driving a truck?
I don't think anyone can give a good answer to this, but it just kinda pulls you in. I guess it's relaxing. It's like slowly playing with your dick, you know just fondling it, no stroking.

Is there a grand theft truck mod for this game?

Maybe i could like this game, i had fun once in GTA by pretending to be a upstanding taxi driver who stopped at all the red lights and drove responsibly. Tried driving as long as i could without a single broken law

That's basically the whole point of the game. It simulates real traffic and truck driving. You use turn signals when switching lines, you stop at red lights, stop when people cross the street and so on. And it actually does it rather well.
There is a big modding community and you really have to use mods. Vanilla is not too great tbh.

ding dong, bought this on steam sale with the going east dlc (it's 80% off or something atm)
Since I only played pirated version so far, I didn't bother with mods yet. Which ones should I really use?

My Dad started playing this game last week, I thought he was a loser for playing it, but he is a majorly depressed jobless recluse, what's your excuse guys?

I just bought it as well on sale seeing as I've heard some good things from friends. Seems to be surprisingly popular :)

Should help you find them. SCS forum is another good starting point. New trucks added in, texture upgrades, huge amount of new trailers... there are tons of mods out there. Watch out for the version numbers, old mods don't necessarily work and the loading order is sometimes important - that's what all the "zzzzzzzzzz" are for :P - but that's most of times mentioned.
Have fun - I really do enjoy it. Just do yourself the favour and play it as a simulator. Break at red lights and stop signs, use signal to switch lanes and so on... then it's really fun and very relaxing. If you drive it like a racer, there is no appeal to it.

That's a lot >_>
I have these atm, don't want to go overboard with modding:
Do you use any graphic enhancement mods? Dunno if I'm just spoiled a bit, but sometimes I feel like the game could look better. Also, did they decrease engine sound inside cabin? I can barely hear the engine of the truck, I remember they were louder. I like to change gears based on engine sound, but that's not gonna fly with these low sounds.
