Title: Teambalance in small servers
Post by: EponiCo on May 12, 2011, 10:31:03 am
Well, I think something has to be done there.
We've had now the following situations, 15-20 people on the server and all ranged and a horsearcher except one (me, I can just say it's lucky I bought the skill already, though I didn't even want to play as archer) on one side. Then same situation but with two horsearcher, later more archers joined luckily.
The thing is, when you only have 8 people on one side and noone to shoot him down, the horsearcher's team has won automatically.
It's also not very balanced if you have all archers on one side, with so little people it's practically impossible to backstab them and you have to camp behind walls.
So I think the autobalancer really has to look at the classes more and create an equal distribution, same goes for putting every cavalry on one side.

Hmm, I'm not sure if I agree.  I've played in games where a team with a few horse archers vs a team with no archers...and the horse archers lost.

If the remaining players on the melee team have shields, they can turtle until the horse archers run out of ammo or get bored and dismount.  Also, the melee players can run to cover (a building or similar structure) and wait the horse archer out.

Horse archer can't kill everything on foot...they run out of ammo.  The melee team just has to play smart (defensively) and have patience.  It depends on the map too...but even a tree can save you from a horse archer.

Bring a crossbow, problem solved..

Even I bring a crossbow when I see we have no dedicated ranged & their team has horse archers.
