Title: Battle for the flag - not the walls

I'm not sure if this has been suggested before.
But wouldn't it be great, if you were rewarded additional gold and xp for killing opponents, in a radius around the flag?
Perhaps would teammates be more motivated to rush back to defend, instead of humping walls.
And ranged would be more inclined to engage in melee to kill, thus preventing a capture.

I was hoping when they make this change to the multi/exp system this is one of the things they could do.. More rewards for the team players rather than just the Rambo's.. maybe with the addition of "team-player" to the valor system (but I have no idea how you would calculate who's been a "team player")

What? Why?

Even with my limited ranged skills I've managed to save the flag a few times with a last second head-shot to the captor. Why shouldn't that be rewarded? You should gain "points" for killing the enemy at the flag whether you do it from ranged or close combat.

That's actually a nice idea, how much xp and gold are we talking here? Like 200xp and 10 gold per kill???

YES! You have no idea how much i've been raging on my team for standing on the walls fighting after 2 minutes of screaming that the flag is in danger.

Then we might as well add CTF mode and remove siege.


Its better to add a system that rewards capturing the walls, gatehouses and other points of interest (you know, what separates siege from ordinary tdm).
New siege beta was a step in the right direction, hoping that will really lift off at some point.

I like the idea since I hardly ever see defenders defending the flag on the rare occasions I bother with siege. Usually just 1-2 people at the flag and then everyone else is scattered around the map when a bunch of attackers decided to sit on the flag.


Then again, with the additional gold and xp from kills around the flag, defenders might be more likely to let the attackers get that far in the first place...
