We at FPF have discussed verily the many options available to men of such grand stature as our selves.

Post our capture of Fisdnar I shall be launching a series of themed battles.

Hopefully in both EU and NA.

If you should like to assist I would be most humbled!

What I require most is troops, silver flows but tickets, oh how chadz has fucked us all with the tickets.

Also post the first couple of battles I'm going to be putting the collection plate around with a vote for the type of battle.

People willing to donate tickets will assemble at a friendly village and produce 2k worth of troops, one for each army and I shall supply the arms needed for the theme that has won the vote.

If we can get 20 people together to farm tickets for the fights I'm hoping to have one fight per week that will just be noholdsbaredfoon. No neck beardary.

Perhaps even do some "re-enactments".

Nice idea! In lieu of the upcoming Rome II Total War my suggestion would be...


Barbarian Badasses
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Attackers: light armor and naked berserkers, light Kuyaks, two handed swords and axes, spears, light shields, some light cav and skirmishers, etc.

VS

Roman Ruffians
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Defenders: medium armor, throwing weapons, heavy shields, one handed swords, archer squad, mounted general, etc.


Signups should be according to preference, class, and ability to use the available gear. I would suggest a forested area for the attack, resembling the Teutoburg Forest.

Another cool idea would be if the generals of the two armies (the actual attacker and defender Strat general) would need to be protected and there are extra points for killing them (counted in metagame).

We may be able to donate some troops from Derchios castle (1k or so) once I have confirmed this with our faction members.

Is everyone finally seeing what I have been saying for the last 9 months? That theme battles and fun are better than tryharding and winning.

Im happy every single one of our battles was themed this strat. Wish more clans would do the same.

I'm themed. I just don't fight, and sell troops for others instead.

I'll start working on that Roman vs Gauls battle once we take Fisdnar.

It's probably only be 1k vs 800 but it should still be fun.

make it 1100 v 700 with the lightly armored barbarian hordes hitting the shield wall of the heavily armored romans

Haha! Makes me think of that old comic series (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asterix_the_Gaul). I think that Kesh and Frank have added an interesting element to the idea of theme battles in the variance of troop numbers. Maybe we could work mercenary numbers into these things as well if the odds are extremely overwhelming for one side (Peasants v Knights could be at 50 mercs to 35 in addition to or as an alternative to differing troop numbers).

I'd like to see something like 5 "knights", 10 men at arms and 35 "peasants" on each team for a themed battle (peasants wouldn't have peasant weapons/armor necessarily, could just have been equipped with a lot lower tier equip)
