Title: Need technical advise
Post by: Utrakil on August 27, 2013, 04:46:02 pm
Hey Folks,
I need some advice.
When I play crpg and I have a Tab open which loads or plays youtube (or other videosites) my framerate goes down quite a lot and makes the game unplayable. This even occures when I read in the forum and look at one of the posted videos. Only pausing the vid doesn't help. I have to leave the site.
Is there anything I can do about that? Maybe raise the process priority of crpg( It says the system might become instable. So I didn't try yet)?

This is the chance to shine with your PC-knowledge.

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 @3.40 GHz
Ram:8GB
AMD Radeon HD 6800
Internet: 100Mbit/s
Win 7

Close youtube.  :P
This is what I do.
But Maybe there is a somehow more elegant way to keep my 120 fps on high setting and load youtube ( I tend to die quite early in EU1 and you have to enjoy the death times)

That is very strange because I play on a laptop that is like 10 years old and I have a second monitor that I run youtube vids on. It happens time to time and I can't stand the lag so I reboot and it goes away. I'd try updating your video card drivers and see if it helps. If not it could be the browser you are using (update it or try another). Run Updates on the PC, etc... pretty much reboot or update the shit, it should be able to handle it.

btw I'm a Microsoft Certified Enterprise Admin with 9 years of experience, hope it helps at the least LOL

I had the exact same problem, if youtube was open and I played something, my FPS halved.

Reinstalling windows solved this issue for me.

PS: Giff me your PC

Thanks so far I will try updating my drivers.
I would really hate to reinstall windows. So I will try everything else first.

I have the same processor but more ram, however, I did not always have more ram.  I've never had this issue.  Adobe flash is a bit of a resource hog, but it shouldn't be that noticeable.  Are you running 64 bit?

Try updating flash if you haven't in a while.  I also run ad block plus, which helps kill the ads, which might be even more poorly optimized flash.

Updated the graficcard driver via AMD Driver Autodetect (the win updateoption always told me it is up-to-date)
Now the framerate stays stable and the game runs smooth.
So thanks again everybody
