Influences the wpf the chance to pay upkeep ???
-
It probably lowers it a bit, but max influences weapons' repair.
-
Yup, for melee weapons last tests placed it at over 11% breakage at 1wpf for melee weapons and a nice 2.5% for 140-ish wpf iirc. Granted that was months and months and months ago only using a couple testers and 100 maps for data collection so some patch probably blew that right out of the water by now...
But yes, the more wpf you have the less often your crap will break:
Melee weapons use the highest wpf out of your one handed/polearm/two handed wpfs.
Bows break using archery wpf.
Crossbows break using crossbow wpf.
Throwing weapons use throwing wpf.
Everything else breaks off of some arbitrary static number.

I believe the "everything else" (besides weapons) break based roughly on this:
Every tick on a minute mark you have a 4% chance of paying upkeep on any item. If you get hit with upkeep it will be 7% of the item's total cost.

I was hoping they were going to add in a similar thing for some items that use skills, like shields and horses, i.e the higher your skill in say shields, the less chance your shield will need repairing ( even though they get obliterated most rounds, we have to be fair lol ).

Don't you get upkeep every round if you're using weapon with less than 50 wpf?
