Title: Biography of a Tavern_Keeper

Since I'll be shielding up in strat soon, I decided to make a short biography for Tavern_Keeper

Calradia changed when the Khan came with his army. Much death and destruction can be attributed to the Khergit hoards. Tulga, the Grand Capital City of the Khergit Khanate is not a place where the weak can survive. One must deal with bandits of every kind. And in the steppe, all people, whether peasant or noble, learn to use a bow from an early age.
Yet some things never change in Calradia. While some only saw danger in the new Khanate, others saw opportunity. Tavern_Keeper established a Tavern in the city which quickly grew to have a mighty reputation. Traders from across the land agreed that in this tavern could be found the best drinks and the softest pillows.However Tavern_Keeper developed not only her skills in hospitality, but also in the art of using a shield at the local Training Field. Indeed, she never needed fear bandits within Tulga, so mighty her reputation of speed and grace with a shield had become. Rumors spread that 50 bandits once tried to rob her, and every last one died of frustration.
Even when the Fallen Brigade emerged to rule the steppe from the depths of hell, Tavern_Keeper worried little. The people of Calradia need their ale, and they always will.

Something has hardened in Tavern_Keeper. She no longer lights the way and harmlessly glances my helmet with a torch. Now she brutally stabs me as I attempt to greet her. So cold.

Yes, being surrounded by war for so long can do that to a person. It's a shame, but that is how things work in Calradia. Also, her friend the Village_Elder has gotten old and just can't throw stones at the speed he use to, so Tavern_Keeper has had to pick up the slack a bit.

Ahhh this makes perfect sense now.  An EU player is tavern_keeper...I guess that makes more sense why someone would be playing a leeching character.    :P

tavern keeper would be hilariously effective in strat, if thats not a STF what would you put post-30 points into, troll ath or str for armor and weapons?

Have to go all in on Ath. Once you reach 33 and have 13 Ath it not only helps you to dodge horses, but also gives you a nice speed bonus to your hits for some extra damage.

That's what I figured, rondel is ridiculous with the 1h stab change now even with 0 ps

I've tried the Rondel and just don't like it nearly as much as the Nordic Short Sword. I mostly attack archers anyway, so -2 damage in pierce instead of cut isn't worth losing that much length to me. If a full tin can attacks me, I can just hold my shield up till they get bored and start trying to punch me. Once that starts the stab on the short sword is good enough to get the job done.

So, the first experiment in strat failed pretty badly. 0:20 KD ratio. My side had no weapons or body armor that Tavern is strong enough to use. Plus the opposing force was made up mostly of heavy cavalry and crossbowmen. So mostly was just getting crushed out of spawn by about 30 horses. Only highlight was leading a strike team around the flank to take the enemy flags and racking up about 30 points from opposing team damage as I weaved in and out of the enemy.
