Title: Double Sided Lance

what is it for?
if it was a little bit longer, i wouldnt even doubt to use it. great piercing damage is a supa advantage, but i see no other. is there any other advantages?
and what are disadvantages?

what i see are:
advantages
pierceing

disadvantages
very short lenght
blunt swing (if there was a cuttting edge oh i would love it)

no need to discuss the second side of this lance))

The world's most humilating couch attack. Imagine someone couching you with a 130 length spear from horseback.

More seriously, it's a good hoplite weapon. Think of it as the ashwood pike's little brother. Or an awlpike you can use with a shield.

Also the model is dope as hell. IT GOTS TWO POINTY ENDS

i don undrstnd the logic of couching with this)) if there was any harseman who used it, he must have been hit the enemy on 99th attempt:)
as a hoplite it would be amiable if it was at least 140 lenght ... but 130. but to say smth we have to try to use first)

Its only for ninja couching, aware targets will be able to dodge or hit you first except you are very lucky.

I can remember GK_Lungy (?) using a Double Sided Lance with a 12/30 (?) build on an Arabian Warhorse. He even used it on siege. Was awesome. :D Not sure if it will still work, though.

It's a really nice polearm for polearming with no shield with an agistacking build.

The speed and thrust damage are amazing. It's a good no-shield polarm as well but the cost is a limiting factor.

It costs about as much as a miaodao, but the good thrust damage is outweighed by the weak swings. It does less swing damage than a quarterstaff or boar spear.

I think that it should be buffed in swing damage or reduced in price to balance the item. In its current state, it is rarely or never used.

If I was a polearmer/hoplite I'd use this weapon or the "spear" both are really really good and so underestimated weapons

This weapon is actually much better than it seems. I did a "mounted hoplite" type build for a while, using a +1 double sided lance. Excellent pierce damage, couching and four attack directions make it very viable for both infantry and cavalry.

I used it on horseback before with a 1h/shield cav build and couched people to death. It's shorter than any lance so it's often more difficult to couch someone unaware, but if you do it, it's a nice weapon. On foot + shield it's also good as an ashwood pike so it's actually quite a balanced weapon which can be used in many ways.

This is actually one of the most awesome hoplite weapons. I used it with a 15/24 build, thanks to its short range it never glances and despite having only 5 powerstrike i only needed 2-3 hits to kill most ppl thanks to the high damage.

Its a great weapon at MW. 35 pierce stab and 22 blunt swing its great. I also happen to be trading my MW one because im no longer polearm if anyone is interested :)

didnt the throwing lance used to have the same model? Only real use for it was to full someone into thinking you were a thrower and trying to spam you ^^

How is it having a blunt swing bad?

Wondered the same thing myself, only thing I can think of, is that they are hoping damage would be increased if it was cut damage?  But yeah...blunt/pierce is better than cut damage (if they are listing the same damage amount).

Pressing X with it should make you do some sort of kickass spinning animation where you swap sides with it like a baton girl.

i mean that this lance is short enough to control the swing to hit by the blade, not by the haft. ofc cut damadge suppose to be bigger.
this is not a heavy weapon to kill with a blunt hit, so think of cut as more appropriate. but this is my ho.

I think it could stand to have 1 more speed and 1 more swing damage (or change swing damage to cut and increase a fair amount).

oh i got one +3 of this lance and tried to use it. awesome to use as a hoplite on siege. yah i was a siege hoplite and manage to be at the top, it's short lenhgt gave the advantage in crowd. supa pierce damage opens cans, and good speed + my WPP let me bowel enemies just as A_Hot_Elf_Princess said. even if my shield got boken, it has 4d attack to spam.
but only on siege and in the crowd. one-on-one and in open field i sucked so badly (but i gues that's up to me).
my humble conclusion is:
- this is monster siege weapon, very good hoplite weapon, super supporter if u play in team.
- but not enough swing damage (i do better with a quarter stuff in open field), suck in duels
- i dont think it is worth its upkeep
i liked it, but i cant use it as it deserves, so i traded it :)

Besides couching and one more speed, sadly the battlefork outperforms the double-sided lance in too many aspects for me to consider it besides "Looks cool" (which is admittedly important).
