Typing this on my phone so I'm gonna make this quick
Do you think helmets are for pussies, wimps, and babies?
I'd have to say yes, real men wear hoods, hats or nothing at all. And still kick ass

Imo they are just not worth the extra weight. Then again i am a 2h s-key bundle of sticks. For others they are ok i guess

the only ones that can claim headgear is useless are poor leightarmoured archers. because any strike to your head is deadly anyway. but a medicore helmet can already save your life and is therefor not useless. but I like enemies without headgear: easy prey. and be shure whoever sees you without helmet will aim for your head.

I dont play with less than 40-50 head armor. Usually far more.

Headgear is stylish.
My Lordly Turban Helmet gives me +22 headarmor.
It saves me from getting oneshot by snowflakes,weak archers ,esp horsearchers quite often.
(do not burst my bubble with facts and reality....)
And it is the lightest headarmor that gives +5 Lordly instead of +4 Reinforced :D

You simply don't neglect head armor if the rest of your armor is heavy. It would be very unwise.
People running around without head armor usually don't wear heavy or plate armor. That would be very unwise.
So I guess what you are really trying to ask is why so many low armored players use head armor.
Well, maybe they do it because they think it looks good, not because it makes much difference.
I don't see how that makes them wimps though.

Even with a helmet, you are in danger of receiving traumatic brain damage from close contact activities. Mild traumatic brain injuries may not be noticed, and can result in permanent brain damage- changing your brain function and even who you are.
Hoods are for crazies.

My felt hat is enchanted with 7 different runes of protection, rendering all magical, psychic, and spiritual attacks against me useless. Only a fool would trade that away for some pathetic sheet of metal to wear on their head.

Anyway most armors that fit to helmets make you look fat. It's like totally ugly.

My collection of metal helmets appear to be utterly ineffectual when it comes to stopping projectiles. I am considering going into battle with a fancy hat myself.

Usually on Native i do not wear a helmet i would wear a helmet on cRPG though, But nothing to big its not worth it.

Helmets are for people who don't want to die in one hit to head (well helmets over 40 armor anyways).
Weapons are for wimps though.

With the way the game mechanics work, I believe its an all or nothing ordeal. I sport a green woolen cap just for style. Wearing massive amounts of head armor is bleh. It always ends up fucking with my wpf anyway.
